"A bit on the yellow side..."
- Product Review by Gregory Haug
(Posted on 9/3/11)
-
Comments: I bought this to replace an existing 10K MH bulb. This new bulb is quite a bit more yellow than the old Coralife bulb I replaced. Based on the coloring, I would probably try another brand or move to a 14K bulb.

"NIce spectrum and intensity"
- Product Review by Andrew Robertson
(Posted on 9/2/10)
-
Comments: Using an electronic ballast from Hamilton, I was able to get a nice, crisp white light from this lamp. The intensity is also very nice, as it yielded quite high levels of PAR, which was perfect for my seagrasses and corals. The only yellowing I've noticed is with extended age and/or yellowed water, the latter of which this lamp will make more evident than most others, due to the white hue. Bluer lamps mask this more, IME.

Comments: I ordered two of these bulbs just 3 months ago. The color of light was a grungy yellow.

One of the two lights has already burnt out.

"Great Bulbs"
- Product Review by Nicholas Sadaka
(Posted on 12/21/08)
-
Comments: These bulbs seem great to me. I'm not one of those people who are consumed with the color the light gives off, only how my photosynthetic creatures respond with growth and so far, so good in that regard. I would definitely purchase and/or recommend these bulbs again. Thanks for the recommendation from customer service (Steve and Robert are great!!!)

"NICE!!!"
- Product Review by Gerald Dabols
(Posted on 10/17/08)
-
Comments: I THOUGHT AFTER RUNNING 400 WATT 10KS ON HQI BALLASTS, THAT I WOULD BE A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED. BUT, I'M ACTUALLY AMAZED THEY LOOK SO GOOD AND I'M RUNNING THEM ON BLUELINE ELECTRONIC BALLASTS. THEY ARE WHITER THAN THE 400'S WERE. MY SPS'S SEEM TO BE GROWING JUST THE SAME WITH ALOT LESS ELECTRICITY AND HEAT.

"NICE BULB"
- Product Review by Marcel Traylor
(Posted on 9/9/08)
-
Comments: Well the bulb takes about 10 days before it takes its true color. My corals have never grown so much. The bulb is has a yellowish tint with a slight hint of blue. I would reccomend to anyone who wants their corals to grow like crazy.

"YELLOW"
- Product Review by Shuky Sela
(Posted on 3/23/08)
-
Comments: The light color is yellow. Not yellowish / yellow tint but yellow...
Could not make it crisp white even with 6 80w T5 actinics.

All greens and blues disapeared under this light.

"It works..."
- Product Review by Mariusz Olejarczyk
(Posted on 2/17/08)

Comments: I purchased this bulb as an exchange for very finicky USHIO 175W / 10000k bulb (Item # MB4413) that refused to light-up at all.
XM bulb works, color is fine, but I had to drop my light from about 13" down to 7" from the top of the aquarium to get a decent light(but not as bright as my previous USHIO bulb).
I think I am going to get the second XM bulb and run 2 of the m in order get back to the level of light that my corals are used to.

Also, be aware that XM bulb is somewhat longer than USHIO equivalent. For most of you it may not be a big deal but with my cone-shape lights, it forced me to forget about putting a glass shield in the enclosure.

"XM, still a great value"
- Product Review by Jay Bloomfield
(Posted on 10/24/07)
-
Comments: Excellent, with nice blue-white color. These bulbs last about 18 months of 8 hour days and then they either lose brightness or even an electronic ballast won't start them. Why pay more from a 250W/10000K bulb?

- Product Review by Jonathan Davis

Comments: A little yellow for my taste but they're only 10,000K, so what should I expect. So far they're great though. No complaints.

I've had them for about 2 weeks now and we'll see how it goes.
