Comments: The bulbs intensity is great. Definetely brightened up the tank. I am curious of why the diameter of the bulb is smaller than what originally there.
<br />I had to zip tie the end in place because the retention clips were for a larger diameter bulb.

Comments: My new light is working great and plants are doing much better. I was using an 8000k bulb at 40watts. I was concerned about the potential damage that the bulbs would suffer during shipment but both bulbs arrived in good condition. I will be ordering more supplies from Customer Service as the overall experience was great.

Upon inspection of bulbs I found what look like hairlike cracks at the bottom of u tube on 2 of 3, I plugged then in and they worked (but I wonder about long term durability) just like any other regular 96 watt. If they werent on sale I would have bought another brand that is much brighter( I won't say the name but it has a built in reflector. If they last 9 months I would change it to 4 stars.

Comments: I was surprised how green this made my tank look. I previously had a 3-6-10 bulb . It's description is: "A daylight bulb with more blue and red output and less green. Makes the red colors in your tank a richer, more saturated red." I guess it's no surprise this would look a lot more green. I haven't had this on my tank long enough to know what effect it has on my plants.

Comments: I've had my 46 gal reef tank for 5 years the 96 watt power compact bulbs i use keep my soft corals and anemones happy.

Comments: I ordered the 96w 10k bulbs and the 96w actinic 420(the violet color)bulbs and they were exactly the same color as the ones the coralife deluxe aqualight fixtures came with. I put them in and turned them on and POW! I was blinded by the brightness. They are a huge difference from my originals that were worn out from several years of use. I do not know how long they will stay this way, but for the price I will just purchase them again.

<br />I initially tried 4x96 420s with the Pheonix 14ks. The corals fluoresced beautifully, bit It was too dim and too blue. I would advise against this combination.

Comments: Just a heads up.......in the past I have ordered the 460/420 bulbs and like the picture shows you get one side actinic blue and the other has more of a lavendar hue. However the Aquatic life bulb has apparently "blends" the phosphers in this bulb so each tube is a mix of the two. IMO the color is not as good as other bulbs that seperate the phosphers. It basically looks like a normal actinic blue with a very slight hint of purple. Dissapointed and will not buy these again. They do seem bright enough though.

Comments: I have a Current USA lighting system with 2 of these bulbs and 2 of the 6700K/10000K bulbs. They are incredibly bright when they are new. After one year, I have had to replace one of the two bulbs. The new bulb is much brighter and bluer than the old bulb. Still a good value, I think.

Comments: I can't speak to the quality of this product yet in that I've only had it for about a week now. However, I can say that the bulb is 2.5-3" shorter than the Current Sun Pac bulbs I've been using and it's narrower. I had to squeeze the clips closer before installation in order for it to stay in the fixture. Just this fact alone makes me wonder. I do think in the future I'm going to go with what I've been using. A low price isn't everthing. (IMO)
