1.25–1.95 mm diameter grain size. A revolution in reef-keeping! This is the one you’ve been reading about in all the hobbyist publications. This grade of aragonite is specifically engineered for plenum-type nitrate reducing beds or anywhere a deeper bed is called for. The pore water space created by precision grading also allows maximum pH support and dissolution of calcium carbonate.
CaribSea Aragonite buffers to the highest pH and delivers more calcium, carbonate, and trace elements than any other substrate. Little or no rinsing required, aragonite keeps aquariums healthier, longer.

I purchased the 40# of SG Reef Sand for a new 60G cube. The sand is very consistent in size and shape of the grains and it "washed" out a minor amount of impurities quickly. Looks great in the reef and it is definately a good value.

So far, this sand has been great. The color really helps reflect the light and the coarse grain makes it easy to clean!

Bought 15, 40 lb bags of the reef flor. Good substrate but you have to wash it more then you normally would other sand. Washing 600 lbs of this is no easy chore.
The seaflor is a great substrate all around. Stays in place even in strong flow. Gobies and wrasse like it.
This substrate is heck of a lot better than sugar sand that packs down and blows all over the tank like a snow storm.

I switch from crushed coral to this due to issues with trapped detritus/nitrates and also crushed coral has poor appearance in my opinion. This will not trap detritus like crushed coral and looks amazing in my tank. I am very pleased with the looks in my tank now! Highly reccomended!

It does not blow around nearly as much as the finer sands.
But still looks and works like real sand, not gravel.
Could have been a bit whiter though.

I was unsure about what substrate to get although I am glad I went with this. The grain size is perfect for a reef tank. Also I was happy to see that it looks much whiter in color once in the tank then the pic leads on to be. No sandstorms when my MP10 kicks up.

This sand is some of the best stuff I have ever used. It did take a little while to rinse completely, but now that it is in there, it looks absolutely amazing.
