Bought 2- 5lb. bags of Caribsea Oolite sand. Able to mix it on top of previous Oolite to prepare my tank for a few Wrasse on had purchased. They prefer deep sand bed to hide when frightened. Your not suppose to add more live sand on top of old, unless you do a little at a time and mix it in with your fingers as you go. Caribsea is the best live sand on the market. They also give you a pack to add to the tank to nullify the cloudiness of water. Water will clear in about 10-hours and no harm to Fish, Invertabres, Corals, or Live Rock. Instant biological Ocean. Have my reef tank for over 6-years and will not use no other sand.

I was really looking for pure white live sand to add to my other sand in the tank. Unfortunately this is off white and will not look good in my tank so I might put it in my refugium. I have used Carbisea Live Sand before and it's good stuff. In this case it's just the wrong color.

I knew once I put these three 40lb bags in my tank it was the best choice for live sand. These bags even came with a little pack of stuff to help clear the tank up. It smelt like I was putting in fresh buckets of sand from the beach..It was perfect. By the way my tank cleared up in about 8 hours, I have a 150 gallon tank.

The quality, and texture of this product is wonderful. My husband and I were having a lot of trouble with our sand dying quickly. We bought a 40 pound bag and the tank is doing great now. I highly recommend purchasing this sand.
