Comments: THE WORST SKIMMER IN THE WORLD...PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I WAS ELECTROCUTED BY THIS SKIMMER, ALSO IT IS EXTREMELY LOUD. SO LOUD THAT I HAVE NEVER RAN IT FOR 24 HOURS STRAIGHT. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SKIMMER. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This skimmer leaks at black and clear conection of the skimmer but with a little silicone you can fix that.Once you stop the leaks and fire it up it skims like mad after break in. For 89 bucks i'd buy another Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: The skimmer is not a high grade acrylic, but it does the job well. Possibly better than my ev 180 and not as good as my 30" LifeReef. You need to put a 45 inside the chamber, put a shim in the cheep pump to make it quiet, and keep the bubble trap off to make it a performer. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This skimmer has begun to overflow despite getting cleaned a week prior. Last month, I returned from work one day to find water on my hardwood floor and Persian (from Iraq) rug. I unplugged the skimmer and cleaned it according to manuf recommendations. Since then, I cleaned the skimmer weekly and adjusted the flow rate daily. Despite constant monitoring/adjusting the skimmer seemed to be working ok. This morning, I woke up to find a similar puddle on the floor (despite thoroughly cleaning the skimmer just 4 days ago) so I unplugged the skimmer and now I'm in the market for another one. Hopefully my rug and hardwood floor won't be damaged. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I just placed my new unit in service on Friday evening. This morning Tuesday I checked the unit and it was making a loud rattling noise. I turned it off an this evening checked the recirculation pump. The trust bearing on the impeller was broken off and rattling around on the shaft. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I am on my 4th day with the 225 gallon fission skimmer and I have seen no skimmate being collected. I am going to give it a few more days , and if I see no improvement, out it goes. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: Cheap, Cheap, and did I mention it's CHEAP!!! Quality build - I could have made a better unit using a plastic pinic cup. Constantly dialing in to adjust flow every hour and inconsistent foaming. Recirculating Pump LEAKS! They say it is both external and in sump...IT's definately in sump! IT WILL LEAK so don't risk it externally. Barely foams up, worst skimmer on the market bar-none. HIGHLY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I wouldn't buy another for $5.00. Barely works, and if/when recirculating pump stops skimmer becomes a water fountain. Emailed Current-USA and their response was that I should buy a venturi pump rated for less gph then recommended to make it work good. Hate this piece of junk. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: This product seems to work as far as skimming the water goes, but unless you want a jet engine in your living I would recommend against it. The powerhead Current has supplied with the skimmer has a cheap version of a needle wheel in it which causes extreme vibrations when operated. I have quite a bit of experience with marine products and this is the loudest skimmer Ive hear. It is next to a 3500 gph external pump and a cheaper 2x 250 Metal Halide ballast, and is much louder than both of them, even from the other room. Moreover, you cannot return it at full price because apparently this is how it is "supposed" to work! All this and I cannot even get a call back from Current to troubleshoot. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Bad Pump Design by JOE CRANE

Comments: Right out the box the skimmer works great. Unfortunately, the pump that comes with the skimmer is annoyingly loud because the rotating magnet/propeller has about a half inch of slop in it and the propeller scrapes on the bottom plate around the intake hole. I went to the local hardware store and installed a 3/8" thick nylon washer to keep the propeller from scraping on the area around the intake hole. It now runs extremely quieter than it initially did out of the box. If it wasn't for the problem that you buy with the pump, I would have rated this skimmer 5 stars. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: It was primed within 48 hrs and works great is pretty quiet and pulls out a good ammount of dark green goo.....beautiful skimmer for the price.... Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: i am sorry but this skimmer was terrible!!! i would not reccomend this product to a friend!!! if your looking to purchase a skimmer stick with the aquac remora family!!! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
