I always wait before writing a review and i brought my unit 3 years ago.
Since that time its been dependable and maintains my calcium and alkalinity levels.
There was some trial and error in the beginning to get the effluent rate appropriate, but now its pretty well runs by itself. If i used the really fine media then i could get really high calcium and alkalinity levels but there was a tendency for clogging after a few months. if i used the very course gravel type media then the levels were a little lowe. But i have now worked out that by mixing the fine and course media materials together i get the best of both worlds. high levels in effluent and minimal clogging.
If the effluent drip rate drops i know its starting to get clogged or that there is some debris in the feeder line. Typically i spend about an hour cleaning it out every 6 months.
the only issue i had was when one of the pipe connectors was broken during a cleaning, and had to be replaced. i think i was too heavy handed. 3+ years on and its still working like a charm.
basically, i have been very impressed with this unit and if mine died tomorrow i would have a hard time not replacing with the same brand.
