Sustain the quality performance of your Lifegard Aquatics Inline Mechanical Filter by keeping a Lifegard Aquatics Gauge Adapter & Air Bleed R172045AX handy from Pet Store. This is manufactured as a replacement piece of the pressure gauge adapter and air bleed, in case the original part breaks down.
While all products of the Lifegard Aquatics are made to be durable, they are prone to malfunction and replacement due to misuse, accidents, wear and tear of the materials. For instance, this adapter might crack when you force it so strongly when readjusting the pressure gauge. In such a case, this replacement part id made available for your use.
This adapter is made to fit the R172045ax model of your mechanical filter perfectly. It is configured to allow this particular component to adjust to the flow of air by releasing extra air and pressure. The materials are made of strong PVC that can handle air pressures from your filter. The threaded nut fits the air bleeder nipples to allow the flow of air out. The replacement part can be easily placed in original's place and function as well. When installing this part, make sure that the nut extends to the bleeder nipple and that there is no leak in pressure after assembly.

This is just a replacement piece for those of us who don't know their own strength. I cracked the original one when trying to readjust the pressure gauge. This went on fine, and after applying teflon tape, no leaks. The only down side of this is that the bleeder valve doesn't function like I think it should. The threaded nut should just have to go past the bleeder nipple to let the extra air escape, but I have to unscrew this one almost completely before it will allow the air out. No big deal, but a flaw in my mind.
