Hands-free Dimming Rules

Prior to the purchase of this product I manually dimnmed my Ecoxotic Panarama Pro LEDs. Not any more!
Although I was somewhat intimidated with the integration of this VDM with my APEX Lite and Ecoxotic Panarama Pros, I found the installation (in the end) to be quite straightforward.
The VDM once integrated is rock solid. Programming my LED's is a snap and I find the amount of control I have on intensity/photo-period is outstanding. I couldn't be happier.
If you have been considering automating your lighting, you must strongly consider this product.

Great for DIY LED

Bought this to control my meanwell drivers on my DIY LED fixture for my 75 gallon reef. Has worked out great, voltage output at max was just slightly over 10v, but have not had any issues. Installation was easy to connect to the LED drivers just had to do a quick search on the schematics of the cat5 cables to find the wires needed for signal. Then used a plain old cheap cat5 cable I had laying around and cut it in half and had connections for both (4 variable speed controls) ports. Overall very good product, slightly expensive but worth it to have smooth sunrise/sunset effects.

So far, ZERO

I bought the VDM and the Apex Jr. after deciding to go digital. The VDM is faulty and I had to send it back to Neptune in Cal. All I can say at this time is that their phone support is excellent and patient. They will spend the time with you and walk you through setup and troubleshooting their products. They dont tell you upfront that you must have Microsoft .Net 3.5 on your computer in order to setup their Jr. and modules and get them to work. The setup papers that come with their systems are not user friendly nor intuitive. There is no easy way to update their firmware. Such could have been put on the 'status' page but no. So, in my opinion, I have to give a zero for the product but a 10 for their support. I won't get a second chance at giving the product nor the Apex people another review but will say that before you tie the VDM to your dimmable drivers it's smart to test the output voltage first. My VDM was reading way over 10v and thats enough to burn out any 10v dimmer immediately.
