Description

This pendent uses 95% reflective material to focus light into the tank. It will hold a 400 W double ended lamp. The power cord comes out the side with eye bolts on the back to hang the fixture. Can be used with PFO`s Pendant Hanger System (PF2817) for easy hight adjustment. It can also be attached to an existing hood. The parabolic reflector allows for optimal light reflection and excellent light distribution. The pendent is made from powder coated aluminum and has a UV protected glass lens. Dimensions (W x H x L): 10.75" x 5.5" x 14.25" NOTE: Double ended bulbs should always be used with the UV shield (supplied). Your corals can suffer from excess UV radiation otherwise. The bulb should be handled carefully as well since it has no outer glass casing. Using soft gloves is a good idea to keep finger prints off bulb. This is during installation and replacement. I have a deep tank (30 in) and this punches light right to the bottom. I have the fixture about 6 in from the surface of the water and it spreads the light completely over a 4 foot tank...no need for a second light! The price is right too. Experience Level: Expert Posted on 11/11/2007 from REDDING, CA UNITED STATES Comments: I like the concept of the easy change bulbs and the versitily of the 400W or 250W bulbs with the same 400W ballast. My only problem was the adjustable connections for the 400W bulb was not set quite far enough apart in both of the ones I ordered and the only way to get the bulb in was to leave the screws loose so the connections could be forced a little further up and back. It looks great and runs cool with their larger size. Also the power cord to the ballasts could have been about a foot longer to reach to ballasts in cabinets down below a little easier. And in one of mine they left a loose screw that rattles around inside .. but everything works and is not a big deal once you get them hung up. I have 3 reef tanks and am using these on our 150 gallon center post 30" deep tank .. the light reaches to the bottom very well.
