Seachem Laboratories Cupramine Active Copper - 2 Liters Information

Free your aquarium water from harmful parasites that may cause fish diseases and infection, fish stress, and even fish kill. Treat it with the Seachem Laboratories Cupramine Copper. Cupramine from Pet Store is a type of active copper that instantly removes harmful organisms like ectoparasites. It is better than other copper elements like copper sulfate and chelates. Moreover, it is non-acidic and thus, it is less toxic to your fish.

When placed in your aquarium, the Seachem Laboratories Cupramine Copper stays in the form of a solution. It does not, in any way, contaminate the filter bed of your tank. It effectively stays active even at low levels of concentration, and it is fully ionic to rid the tank of any impurities and contaminants. This product makes sure that you have a clearer aquarium, which is not only good for your pets, but also very attractive to the sight.

The Seachem Laboratories Cupramine Copper is easy to use. It is effective for both freshwater and marine fish tanks. Plus, it will not harm your pets and the reef inhabitants that are present inside your aquarium. With the Seachem Laboratories Cupramine Copper, you do not have to worry about the risk of parasite infestation, and you will keep your aquatic friends healthy and happy inside their home.

Cupramine? is superior to copper sulfate, chloride & citrate: it is non-acidic, less toxic to fish, remains in solution, and does not contaminate the filter bed. It is superior to chelates: it is fully charged (ionic), and active at low concentrations, and is removable with carbon.

DIRECTIONS: Remove all invertebrates. Turn off UV sterilizer; remove chemical filtration. Use 1 mL (top mark of enclosed dispenser) per 40 L (10.5 gallons*) the first day, wait 48 hours, then repeat for a total dose of 0.5 mg/L (in freshwater, use half dose). Leave at this concentration for 14 days. Do not redose without testing (MultiTest: Copper?). Do not use in conjunction with any other medication. If tank has ever been treated with an ionic copper (e.g. copper chloride, sulfate or citrate), test copper level after initial dosing. Although most fish tolerate Cupramine? to 0.8 mg/L, it is not advisable to exceed 0.6 mg/L copper. Remove with carbon or CupriSorb?.

  • i2 L / 67.6 fl. oz. (Treats 40000 L (10580 US Gallons))

Fish stopped eating.

Comments: I used Cupramine on my large Queen Angel. Fish slowly stopped eating the second day dosing (I did half dose increments). At 0.5ppm, fish looked & acted normal but refused to eat. After 3 days of no eating, I decided to perform a 50% water change and added activated carbon. By the next day the Queen Angel had an appetite again. I may use this product again and with other fish.

Comments: Works great for SW Ich. I recommend this for it over Paraguard to make sure it does the job right the very first time. I've used this in a FOWLR tank with LR and LS (which isn't the recommended method of treating fishes) but I didn't have a big enough tank to QT 3 triggers/2 angels/3 tangs/8 chromis and other misc fishes without major ammonia spike and increased stress on the fish. With LR/LS in the tank, it took about 2.5x the amount recommended since the LR/LS absorb a little. After a week of dosing, I was able to get a stable reading of .5. I treated for a 4 week period to make sure ich was eliminated. After using about 3 Polyfilter pads to remove the Cupramine in my 125 (150 gal total) for about two months, I introduced two cleaner shrimps/emerald crabs/ RBTA and soft corals into my tank without any issue with Copper poisoning. I highly recommend Seachem's version of copper treatment for ich!

Comments: I think this is a great product. It's easy to use and 100% kills ich, which is what my intentions were for it. All it takes is two weeks of monitoring your copper levels with an appropriate test kit. I used Seachem's copper test kit and had no problems. Two weeks later, my fish are all ich free and happy. I have some delicate fish and none of them had any problems with Cupramine, which has to do with it being an organic chelated copper that is very easy on fish. Traditionally delicate fish like puffers do very well with a copper product like Cupramine.

Comments: I've been using this product, exclusively, to treat all my new fish which have been exposed to ich. It works well, and I haven't had any signs of the parasite since I started treating my fish with it 6 years ago.

Worked for marine velvet

Comments: I ended up with marine velvet on a pair of charming true Perculas in the quarantine tank. The male clown was in worse shape and looked miserable, I didn't think it would make it. The funny thing is that I realized that I was actually attached to those little clumsy fish. After learing about treatment options, I performed a 5 minute fresh water dip along with formalin and malachite green solution (using Ich-Rid+, Kodrdon brand). The fresh water dip gave immediate relief to the male clown. I think the gills were infested with parasite and fresh water + formalin dip discarded a good portion of them. Then I used the Cupramine copper according to the Seachem instructions with concentration of around 5 ppm. The treatment worked very well. Quarantine tank's temp was around 75 F. Due to the severity of the parasite infestation, the male clown lost some scales and was sort of scarred for a while, but they are brought back to health, scars are gone, and they act like two little piggies begging for food all the time. No immediate ill effects were noted with this product. It saved my fish.

Best Copper on the Market

Comments: I've had very good results using this product to treat marine Ich. Make sure to purchase Seachem's Copper test kit to ensure you are treating at the appropriate levels, as this stuff is highly potent and can kill your fish if overdosed. Do not use this product if treating Flame Angelfish. They cannot tolerate copper well even at the lower dosage. Other than that, this stuff works.

100% Effective

Comments: Used Cupramine in my quarantine tank to treat ich that was infesting my powder blue tang (quarantined all my fish). Ich was no longer visible after the third day and the tang started gaining returning to a healthy weight. The Cupramine did make my skimmer produce thick clouds of microbubbles, but otherwise had no ill effects on any of the livestock and is a small price to pay. Definately recommended.

Comments: The fact that you can safely use this product with more sensitive fish (ie angels, etc.) is a definite plus. The instructions are easily understood, dosing and testing is simple as well, and the product is easily removed with water changes and carbon. It will not stick to any sort of surfaces as well. Best of all, it cured my fish!
