Seachem Laboratories Reef Buffer - 50 Grams Information

DIRECTIONS: Check pH and alkalinity before use. Use 1 level measure (included) for every 8?L (2 gallons) to raise pH by about 0.1 pH units (this will also raise alkalinity by about 0.5 meq/L). Dissolve in at least a quarter cup of freshwater, then add to the tank. The pH of natural sea water is 8.25?8.30. Dosing requirements will vary, but do not exceed the recommended dose without checking your pH and alkalinity (alkalinity should not exceed 6 meq/L). If an alkalinity of 6 meq/L has been reached and a pH of at least 8.20 has not been attained or substantial cloudiness that does not clear within 15 minutes is encountered, then the system is not ionically balanced. To restore ionic balance perform a water change or adjust the magnesium and calcium levels to approximately 3:1 Mg:Ca. DO NOT OVERDOSE: Excess alkalinity may enhance the loss of calcium, magnesium, and strontium. Do not directly mix with any calcium, magnesium, or strontium supplement.

Comments: It's a great product even if you have fish only system and it is good for buffing the pH all the way up to 8.3 and nothing more. This product is better than the Fish only version because it has Everything that is needed for the Live Rock even though you are using a fish only system.

Algae Eradication

Comments: Having a heavy hand with feeding my fish and corals left me with a not so happy algae problem. Seachem Buffer has quickly brought up the ph and alkalinity levels to the point that the algae is fairly dissolving from the rocks and can be easily vacuumed or manually picked out of the tank. I am very pleased with the results. The buffer is easy to use and now is part of my daily maintenance to return to the beautiful tank I used to have and always envisioned. I would also recommend using a media reactor with Phosban/GFO to complete the attack against the mossy tank syndrome.

Comments: Excellent product! Easy to use, maintains pH and dKH. Works best when alternating with Seachem's Reef Calcium.
