Comments: I purchased the 57 watt, 3/4 inch unit for my 120 gallon marine aquarium and 40 gallon sump. Based on the reviews, I decided not to get the wiper because it seems to be prone to leaking. This is definitely commercial grade as far as quality goes and can easily be used for a public aquarium. I'm upgrading from a 36 watt turbo twist which leaked from day one. This unit is smaller than I had expected compared to the turbo twist. I paired the unit with a Mag 2 pump to make sure I get maximum kill rates and the water flow is still very fast passing through. It was easy to assembly and no leaking at all. The transformer gets warm to the touch but not hot. I can't comment on it's effectiveness because my water is already very clear. I like to use a UV as an insurance policy against disease and problem algae. This was worth the price.

Comments: Arrived very quickly. Easy to install. Was larger than I expected, but we managed to find a place for it.

Comments: I installed this product on my 55 gal saltwater aquarium with a wet/dry sump and it made the water clear within a day and a half. This was very easy to install and good quality.

Comments: I have a 100 gallon fresh water tank and install it. Work over night to me. The fish are happy it is well worth what you pay for.

Comments: My 160 gal. freshwater had been without a sterilizer for almost two months resulting in less than a clear view. Three days after (professional) install of the Aqua UV 25W 3/4" UV, the water returned to being crystal clear. Great product!

Comments: You always hear people saying you need this or you need that for your reef tank and it's hard to know who to believe. Trust me - YOU NEED A UV STERILIZER (and a chiller for that matter). This one was easy to install and my tank has never looked better. It was hard to tell the difference in the first couple days because our water has always been pretty clear, but every single day I come home I notice how good it looks, every day - consistently. That's the real difference.

Comments: The replacement Aqua UV 15 Watt is an excellent product, however, it replaces a similar unit. For no apparent reason the old unit came up with a water leak in the area just above one of the attachment connections. It appears to be a small crack that leaks. This makes no sense to me because the unit has worked just fine for years. Staff are very good and service oriented. First we had to determine whether or not it was a leaking 8W unit, or a 15W. I was unable to determine the correct wattage at that time. Your staff concluded that it was a 15W - (The saltwater tank is a 250 Gallon. Also, the shipping time was notable - the replacement unit arrived at my Los Angeles home the following day.Your customer service rep demonstrated excellent telephone skills.Thanks, we will certainly continue to use the site for our aquarium needs.Terry Powledge

Comments: This is an excellent quality product, well worth the money. It was fairly easy to set up, though I had to devise my own mounting options. This seems to be working out very well, better than expected. So far, everything is working out well and my water quality is excellent.

Comments: Finally a UV light that's worth every penny. I installed the 25 watt unit this afternoon. It's everything the reviews say it is. I purchased the one without the wiper. Not afraid of a little maint. once in awhile.

There are many options to this unit that make it easy to install and clean. The unit was well packaged. No fear of the light being damaged. Everything tight and secure.

<br />Large 2" threaded caps (to mount your hose barbs to) with O ring seals to allow any position when using 90 degree fittings. The large opening allows for easy cleaning and quick release without fighting hose barbs. the lite is well secured and sealed, including a water tight seal on the electrical cord, which is insanely long. The book says do not submerge, but I bet it could and a quick dip if something happened.

Comments: Well made and easy hook-up. The water in my tank has never been cleaner!

Comments: I have had mine for about six months. I have the two chamber model. Went to use the wiper and on one side it worked, the other side it was jammed. When I opened it up, the wiper was just ruined. I got the wiper out and put it in the tube without the wiper as the wiper just doesn't work. Now it leaks. Nice.

Comments: After doing a whole bunch of research and looking into different uv's I finally made the decision to purchase this one. It's built great and and the install is fairly easy. After a couple of days of running you can see the difference in the water. It's a great uv.

Comments: Excellent, I have a 60g fish only and it works great.

Comments: It is a well made product but I was disappointed that for the price it did not come with any mounting brackets and those had to be purchased separately from the manufacturer.

Comments: This is heavy pvc, appears to be well made - I have the 15 watt version. This replaced a Coralife Twist that I had that started leaking when their cheap plastic housing and cap began failing from the uv light, and Coralife does not make replacement parts available. For the little additional cost, this Aqua unit is by far a much better unit. Installation was easy, and the fittings are all constructed in a way that guarantees it is water tight. I particularly like the way the lamp can be removed without having to turn off the water flow or disconnect anything. And unlike Coralife, Aqua supplies replacement parts, so the lack of a $5 cap or fitting doesn't render it unusable.

Comments: Right out of the box you can feel the quality of this unit, it is built with heavy duty materials, and easy to put together. I was up and running in 20 min. Two days later the water was crystal clear in my reeftank (intense light). Very happy- it is well worth the extra $$ vs some of the other junk out there.

Comments: I just installed the sterilizer a few days ago so I dont have a lot of data to support how well it works. The unit is very study and went together perfectly, no leaks. The water is crystal clear and mostly Im very pleased with its price! My local fish store sells the same one for $470 ( without the wiper )!

Comments: I just got this a couple of days ago and installed it. It seems to be a very sturdy unit. It is operating and doing the job in my pond. This one is slightly larger (25 watt vs 18 watt) than the other one it replaced. Time will tell if it will be more reliable. The only thing is that I wish I had got the black one instead of the white one because it would have been more hidden (although, this wasn't an option from this site but I saw the same model elsewhere in black...for more $$$ of course!). I ordered it here because it was a good price. It was delivered quickly and was as promised.

Comments: I bought the 25W which is an overkill for my 30GL tank, but looking forward to go to a 50GL, I installed it in the morning (11am-noon) by 7pm the water was incredibly clear. It installed behind my Eihiem e3 2078, in the bio cycle with 3 LED on during the day and 2 at night.

Comments: Hello, i own the 15 watt version with the wiper, and have been using it on my 55 gallon tank for about a month now. i run a 30 gal sump, deep sand bed, 100+ lbs of rock, with an estimated 60-65 gallon liquid system capacity. The unit was easy to install, no leaks, water seems clearer and have had no outbreak of red slime since it was installed. Together with Kent Marine's Tech M, i have absolutely wiped out my hair algae problem that has plagued my set up since its inception!

Comments: I installed my Sterilizer and after 3 days, it went dead. After disassembling it, I realized what I did. It did leak and shorted out my lamp and transformer. In retrospect, I do think it was partially my fault, but I will partly blame the (otherwise very good) directions. I would still recommend this product, it seems to be very well constructed and simple and straightforward in its design, for the short time I had it running, it was doing a good job of cleaning things up. Comments: This was a replacement unit the original got Broken internaly and fried the voltage transformer RE: it was bolted directly to the Bulb [Old Style] Glad to see the new version moved the transformer up the line about a Foot also the clear cap makes it easier to see the UV Bulb is on etc... However the new water inlet/outlet body was in a different location, But the old unit/housing, body was still servicable so I used it and installed the internals into it. No Problem...

Comments: This is very sturdy and built well. It isnt difficult to set up. I have used it for almost 2 years now and it still works fine.

Comments: I know, why would you pay such a price for a UV sterilizer? Well, when you hook this baby up, you definetly see what you paid for. I plumbed this sucker with pvc pipe and you can see the light through the darn pvc!! Geesh! Anyway, cleared up my water in under 24 hours, but I did start noticing a difference in water clarity within 10 minutes. Now thats fast. The fact it has a wiper just puts this thing over the top for me. If you have the money, buy it.

Comments: ive only had it up and running for 3 days not but the water is crystal clear in my 210 reef tank. it is made out of schedual 20 pvc so it is thinner than and lighter. i ordered the 57 watt 2 inch w/o wiper. the 2 inch inlet/outlet are screw on union type fittings. that way you can unscrew it and remove to clean later on w/o having to put unions inline somewhere. so far so good!

Comments: Bought another brand, leaked at ALL connections and shorted the light out the first hour. Returned it and bought this unit, absolutely no comparison. This is the best UV light I have seen.

Comments: Good product, but a little bulky. Doesn't seem to dump too much heat into the water. Keeps the water clear.. .no green tint. The wiper is nice to help keep the inner quartz sleeve clean, i'm just worried about it the seal on the wiper rod leaking some day. I always install items like this either into my sump, or onto a bracket above my sump, so if it does leak one day, its just gonna go right back into the sump. Only drawbacks are size (kinda bulky), and it either requires an additional pump, or has to be plumbed into the return line.

Comments: Great product! I wish I took the time/money to install this when I first started my 55 g marine tank. I have 3 populations of total wipe out after ick. Since installation, I had zero. I've read all the pros and cons, in the end I wished I listen to the pros earlier.

Comments: I upgraded to this unit from a turbotwist. The two aren't in the same class. The Aqua is built like a tank from common schedule 40 PVC and accepts standard PVC fittings and UV bulbs. That's the way it should be. The turbotwist did not on either account and leaked like a sieve after a year. I have full confidence the Aqua will go the distance.

<br />Furthermore, because the aqua uses a straight UV bulb (compared to the turbotwist's U-shaped design) it sterilizes the water more efficiently by allowing the water to pass closer to the bulb (narrower quarts sleeve) and directs all of the bulbs light into the water (instead of back at itself) at a 90 degree angle to the sleeve which is optimal for transmission.

<br />The down side is the price. This unit is expensive. If you're the type who still uses vinyl tubing to plumb your aquarium you'll probably find a better value in another brand but if you have a large aquarium or pond, plumb exclusively with rigid PVC wherever possible and don't like replacing broken equipment this unit is worth the premium and may just save you money over the long haul. It's professional grade equipment at professional grade prices.

<br />Finally, skip the wipers unless you aren't prefiltering the water. You'll need to remove the quarts sleeve a couple times a year for a proper cleaning anyway and it's not a lot of trouble. However, do consider the unit with the union in the middle that allows the inlet & outlets to be rotated away from each other as it allows for more convenient plumbing.

Comments: After a few months, the unit started to leak near the wiper handle. I could not stop it from leaking even after taking it offline, cleaning and reinstalling it. The extra wiper feature is not worth the trouble since I had to pretty much keep the handle closed to keep it from leaking. I would have been better served to get the unit without one instead.

Comments: I recieved and installed this sterilizer on Thursday. By Friday evening after work the pond had allready started looking clearer. I cleaned all the filters and restarted the u.v.. Saturday, clearer and Sunday crystal clear. 2000 gals went from green to clean in just 3 days. I have tried all different sorts of products, this one is worth the money. Comments: This uv sterilizer is a very good product. After one day of use it eliminated the smell in my aquarium. Just three things you should be aware of the uv sterilizer it is a little bulkly, it does come with two barb fittings and it will raise your aquarium temperature so keep that in mind when using uv sterilizers.

Comments: I have two of these sterilizers on both my 150 gallon reef and 220 gallon saltwater fish only aquarium and they work great! The bulbs have lasted a full year and I have not seen any sign of parasites or algae outbreaks in either tank. Water is crystal clear! This product is lightweight, easy to install and you can clearly see if the bulb is on. The unions make it effortless to remove the quartz sleeve and lamp for easy cleaning and replacement.

Comments: Just unpacked and installed it. The quality looks great. Easy to install. It had the correct fittings and it was easy to install the UV bulb. It looks like bulb replacement will be easy, which is what I was looking for. Haven't had a chance to clean the quartz with the wiper yet, but I don't think it will be a problem.

Comments: This high-capacity UV sterilizer has kept my pond clear almost immediately upon installation. The ports are quick-release (i.e., they detach from the body of the unit), which will make changing the bulb much easier than my old sterilizer. Would recommend it!

Comments: I bought this unit about 2 years ago and have never been able to use the wiper feature because it leaks. I had to seal it off with some silicone to stop the leak. Not a good product.

Comments: This is a very sturdy product with strong materials. After one year's use I took it apart for a cleaning because I figured the wiper may not get it as clean over a long period of time. I was wrong, the glass tube that the wiper cleans was spotless even after 12 months!

Comments: I ordered the 15 Watt version for a smaller tank after having good luck with the 25 Watt model. Same high quality and ease of use as the larger unit, but takes up less room since the bulb is shorter.

When I first assembled mine, it leaked like a sieve but that turned out to be a bit of packing material that had gotten into the gasket facing. Flicked that out and it worked perfectly. Comments: Very nice compact unit. Had to deal with a small leak on the unit itself after installation, but it was not a big deal. Extra long power supply which was nice because my outlets were away from installation site. You have to be real careful installing the UV bulb into sleeve, it is fragile.

Comments: I had green water for awhile before I bought this product. I did the usually things of changing the water, using chemicals, and I stopped feeding the bottom feeders (hoping they would eat more algae).
