CPR CY192 Filter Information

Part #: CY192

Think of your aquarium's filter as the kidneys of your aquarium system. Just the same way your blood transports oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and moves them to your kidneys for cleaning, your aquarium's pump and filter work the same way. The pump moves the water around and the filter takes out the toxins and debris from the water. What kind of toxins would accumulate in the water anyway? Actually the dangerous elements are not the ones that you can see.

It is the invincible items that you should be worried about. While it is easy to see debris filtered out, invisible threats like ammonia, nitrates and nitrites can cause stress to your fish, which would make them susceptible to parasites and diseases. If the toxin level in the water accumulates high enough, your water becomes quite poisonous and your fish and plants will die. This is the reason why it is significantly important to invest in a very powerful filter. The CPR CY192 Filter from Pet Store includes a protein skimmer that removes proteins and non-degraded food from your aquarium.

If left in the water, these elements would break down into harmful biological chemicals that could stress your fish and pollute the water. The CPR CY192 Filter employs bio-bale, which is a high-performance biological medium to quickly and efficiently soak up any toxins from your water. You can use a submersible pump with this filter or you could use an external pump. It is also very easy to disassemble and easy to clean. If you are looking for an effective filter, try the CPR CY192 Filter.

Comments: A great starters kit. Took some work to run -I've external pump. Since intall of our tank Oct04 the tank chemistry has been flawless. The skimmmer may be subpar. Perhaps it's that good! Great Value!

Comments: this product is excellent. small and quiet. the product came with everything needed to get this filter up and running with the exception of pvc cement. When you receive the item make sure the washer on the bulk head is on the wet side and glue the plug in with pvc cement. allow the cement to dry fully then i recommend running it with some water in the bath tub to make sure that your bulk head is on tight enough. take care if you use a tool as the bulk head is made from pvc and over tightening can ruin the bulk head and break the acrylic sump. i suggest running it in your bath tub for a few hours to make sure that there are not going to be any leaks. other then that i got mine up and running in a matter of minutes after i ran my in tub testing. once again cpr takes the cake with another outstanding product

Great!

Comments: It works just fine, and the all in 1 unit (built in skimmer) is a big plus, easy to remove to clean, and less hose to worry about.

I like it!! Product Review by HARLEY PETERSEN (Posted on 10/21/11)

Great!

Comments: Setup was fairly easy. The skimmer skims great but takes awhile to get adjusted right. The powerhead doesn't fit very well in the side of skimmer. Once you get those two kinks worked out it's great. The waters skimmed then flows threw the bio bale and filter pad so you get clear water!! NO MICRO BUBBLES!!! Great setup!! A little to pricy though.
