Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Melafix Marine 16oz Information

Product Manuals & Documentation

As much as possible, it`s better to take preventive measures before something bad happens. But no matter how careful we may be, things go wrong sometimes, so we have to be ready with a cure or treatment for a bad situation in case it does happen.

That works in life, and it also works in an aquarium. You can do everything to keep your aquarium healthy, but there will be occasions when your fish and corals still get sick or injured.

When looking for a cure or treatment, look no further than the Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Melafix Marine from Pet Store. This medication is especially formulated to treat degradation of corals due to exposure to irritants or stressors. Aside from that, this medication is also used on fish to help them heal their minor abrasions or open, festering wounds. It also treats rotting normally found on the fins and tails, and the clouding of the eyes.

It can also be given to fish suffering from fungal infections especially surrounding the mouth area. Overall, this medication can promote the regrowth of damaged tissues and fins.

The Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Melafix Marine is safe to be mixed with tank water. It does not discolor the water or add any toxic chemicals that can harm aquatic life. It is, in fact, a natural treatment perfect for coral reefs and marine fish.

Anti-Bacterial Fish & Coral Remedy: An all natural fish & coral treatment with tea tree extract (Melaleuca). Melafix® Marine rapidly repairs damaged fins, ulcers and open wounds, and also reverses coral degradation.

16oz treats 948 US Gallons of Saltwater.

"Great stuff!" - Product Review by Pacharapong Pongpairojana (Posted on 8/1/10)

Great!

Comments: I have used this product many times already on corals that were receding with positive result. I was able to save quite a few corals that I thought wouldn't survive. It also seems gentle enough on corals as they would open right back up within minutes after the dip. Iodine dip can stress your corals as well as possibly stain them so I would stay away from it. Don't count on melafix to help your corals every time though but for me it has helped many times. It will also remove pests from your corals as well. Remember though that this product is meant to be used in a quarantine tank or a container! If you wanna dip your corals, pull them out of the main tank and leave them in a container with the apropriate amount of this product, then dip them in clean saltwater before put them back in to the main tank. If you want to treat your fish, remove them and do the treatment in a quarantine tank. I haven't used this product on fish so I can't comment on how effective it is. I prefer to use Coral-Rx as coral dip before I put newly acquired corals into my tank as it is very effective at removing undesirable (as well as the desirable ones) critters of the corals (more effective than melafix) and I would use Melafix on damage corals. Anyway, in my opinion Melafix Marine is a great product to use on damage corals and I highly recommend it!

Unsatisfactory

Comments: My boyfriend and I both used this on our tanks, 1st on his, and then on mine, it about killed everything! and we didn't even dose as much as the directions called for. We have now learned our lesson, and this stuff is very, very bad for your tank. It should not be sold at all.

Comments: This product is really bad!! it made my healthy fish sick and the sick one much sicker. dont get this on your skin unless you want cancer... this smells like bleach !! and most likely is related. i did not overdose nor was the product expired. if this works for you im glad but for me it almost killed all mt fish. the research i did amounts to about 50% working or 50% killing all the fish. its your choice if you like to gamble. sorry if this is a repost i have been posting on more than one site to let peeps know about this crappy product.

"killed all my fish" - Product Review by Juels Benn (Posted on 12/6/09)

Unsatisfactory

Comments: This product killed all my fish and inverts on the second day of treatment! I only had one fish with a minor fin rot, all the others were perfectly healthy fish I've had for years. I used the proper dose recommended by the company (5 ml per 10 gal.) On the second day of treatment all my expensive fish and inverts are dead! Please, don't use marine melafix! It is obviously a very poorly tested product and should be taken off the shelves! I've used Melafix before on my fresh water fish and it worked great, that's why I tursted the company and purchased the marine one. I am still in the state of shock! Very, Very dissapointed!

Excellent!

Comments: Worked well for a cloudy eye in a Niger Trigger. No noticeable harm to corals or inverts. Make sure skimmer is turned off during treatment.
