AquaticLife 24 Inch 24 Watt Expandable LED Light Fixture (8 x White, 12 x Blue, 4 x Purple) Reviews

"Great light, but the noise!!!" - Product Review by Don Williams (Posted on 7/13/12)

Comments: This is one of the best full coverage LED lighting systems available, in my opinion, in terms of price. I own the 48" 72 watt model. I wish there was a timer or other method to independently control white and blue lighting, but oh well...

My chief complaint, and it's a major factor, is the noise. Not sure if I got a bum unit, but the power supply (approx 6 feet remote from fixture) is extremely noisy. I'm talking high frequency fan noise that rivals the loudest return pump. It's basically unacceptable, and I'm going to attempt a warranty replacement once I buy a suitable backup lighting source. If the noise is endemic to the unit, I guess I'll try to sell this one and try something new. It really is a great light source - too bad it sounds like a window fan...

"40 Breeder - two 36 watt" - Product Review by Patrick Murphy (Posted on 6/21/12)

Great!

Comments: I have a 40 Breeder reef tank. I bought 2 of the 36" 36 watt LED fixtures. First they look alot better that the T5's I replaced. As for my coral, It took a few days for everything to adjust. I had to relocate a few things but so far almost everything is responding good. Mushrooms are expanding, Toadstool is fully opening but I did have to move him higher in the tank. Xenia is blooming and pulsing. All my polyps are open and expanded. The only issues I'm having is my star polyps are not coming out and my frogspawn is not expanding. I've tried to relocating the frogspawn with no luck so far. I also try relocating the star polyps that are on a smaller rock with no luck. I'm not disappointed but I believe I should of went with two 54 watt fixtures instead of the 36 watt.

"Reef LED Fixture." - Product Review by Aris Arenas (Posted on 3/8/12)

Great!

Comments: When I was purchasing this item for my 75 gallon rimless tank, I was under the impression I needed two fixtures to light my tank. My tank has Fish and one coral at the moment. I upgraded my lighting from T%(s) to this LED. My coral responded right away and my live rock looks much better. I like the item.

Pros:
Enough light out of one single fixture for a 75 Gal. tank.

The shimmer effect from the waves created in my tank are now more prominent.

The different color LED(s) make a world of difference.

The entire fixture is fanless. (No Noise- Super)
Cons:
I was expecting two fixtures put together to light my big tank.

The LED(s) are all operated with one switch so you can't change the color spectrum once turn on. (That would make it excellent.)

After having it on for an hour everything looked much better.
