An aquarium is more than a tank, water, and fish. A real and complete aquarium has more accessories and parts than you probably expected at first. If you're already an aquarist, you know by now that there are many factors to consider when building an aquarium worth displaying in your home or office.

Marine life needs light to thrive healthily. In the sea, light comes naturally, but in aquariums, it doesn't. However, specialized lamps are readily available in the market so this shouldn't be a problem. The next step, though, poses a challenge. How do you connect these lamps to your aquarium without making the whole setup seem messy and busy?

Well, there's also a handy answer to that problem in the form of the AquaticLife Suspension Hardware for T5 & Compact Fixtures from Pet Store. These fixtures are designed to be used with AquaticLife lamps. When connected to these fixtures, the lamps can be suspended directly above the water for maximum exposure. Connections and cables for the fixtures are in chrome color for a discreet look. To top it off, the AquaticLife Suspension Hardware for T5 & Compact Fixtures come with a mount box used as ceiling to hide the fixtures. The result? Clean and understated elegance.

If you're using lamps from other brands, you won't be able to use these beautiful and elegant fixtures. The hardware is custom-made for AquaticLife lamps.

Excellent!

Comments: I did not have any problems and it looks grait i predrilled for the j hooks. i also had to make shere the wire clips were up tight to the j hooks for the covers to fit tight. I had a enofe room to put the extra wire in the black cover so if i need it i have it.

Works well Product Review by DAVE MALONE (Posted on 5/7/12)

Great!

Comments: Works well. The only trouble I had was screwing the j-hooks into the ceiling far enough so the decorative covers would actually fit over them. I used a pair of wire cutters to clip the excess wiring.

Suspension Hardware so-so Product Review by mickeyF (Posted on 3/19/09)

Comments: The good: It looks nice.

The Bad: The pieces that connect to the fixture are difficult to insert because the wire twists and kinks. Not the most secure way to "hold up" the fixture with 2 set screws. Not easy to adjust once it was up. Too expensive.

I was not that impressed at all, for that price. I could have made my own that worked better.

Poor at best Product Review by MATTHEW HILLS (Posted on 11/11/09)

Unsatisfactory

Comments: The hardware kit came with very detailed instructions, but unfortunatly the way it described the correct way to attach the light to the hardware was incorrect. I had to jerry-rig something to get it to hang right, and on top of that the cables corroded and frayed within the first month, so I had to take it down anyways. Once I set up the light on top of my tank I was able to break the cables just by pulling on them. A waste of money.
