"Great filter sock"
- Product Review by Brian Lane
(Posted on 7/19/12)

Comments: These filter socks are awesome, they catch so much junk out od the water. I wash them inside out in the washing machine with bleach and two old towels that I use strictly for tank stuff. After I was the socks I rinse them in ro/di water and a drop of dechlorinator. These things are awesome!

Comments: I like it, the only problem is that it created a TON of micro bubbles at first, but then they disappear.

"Filter Sock"
- Product Review by Louis Zak
(Posted on 1/22/10)

Comments: I use two socks on the two returns from a 240 gallon tank into a 50 gallon sump. The sock keeps the water very clear, gets rid of the small floating debris in the main tank. Wash the socks before use the first time or a lot of foam overloads the protein skimmer.

"Great Sock"

Comments:
Great filter sock. helped with micro bubbles and filters very well. Cleaning: ive noticed a few remarks that the sock was hard to clean. At first it seemed that way and running under the sink won't clean it. A powerfull garden hose with a spray attachment works great. I was easily able to clean the sock this way. i bought the Acrylic mount that is ment for the sock so I have two socks. I now swap them out once a week.

"Great in my Elos Sump"
- Product Review by Guy D Molinari
(Posted on 6/6/09)

Comments: I use these in my Elos Sump. They work great in place of the original filter sock. I cut out the "handle" that is in the opening which allows me to turn it almost completely inside out to hose off the detritus. Then I throw them in the front load washer, no soap, just a cup of bleach, Hot water, and the extra rinse cycle on.

Comments: this filter sock does its job period. it keeps the water clear and my sump clean. I see some people have had trouble cleaning it. here is what i do. I turn it inside out and throw it in the washing machine. Run it on an extra rise cycle with bleach ONLY. then i add a dechlorinator (like Prime) on the last rinse cycle. they come out clean.

"Love these"
- Product Review by Chris Moultrie

Comments: I love these sump filter socks, they stop the bubbling and filter crazy amounts of stuff out, my water has never been clearer, buy a few at a time though, because they get clogged fast and washing them only works once or twice.

"berlin sump & filter socks"
- Product Review by John Dellamanna
(Posted on 1/24/08)

Comments: Both are great. The sock traps the finest of particles. The smaller sump has plenty of room for my Sea Urchin Skimmer. Unfortunately, this model does not come with a cover ( to prevent evapoation) but a trip to Home Depot solved that with a piece of acrylic that I dremmeled into to pieces to fit the sump, then add 18' of 3/8 black hose split and it is a finished product.

"Its Gotta Be Bleached"
- Product Review by Keith Brouse
(Posted on 12/25/07)

Comments: Ive been using 2 of these for the past 5 years. While one is in the tank doing it s job, Ive got the other one washing in HOT water in machine, with the 'Fill Level" on the mashine to its 'fullest'. Run it thru the longest cycle you have.
After the last rinse of he bagg, lay the bag out flat as possible in a broiler pan or something that will hold water and large enough to accomidate the bagg size. Then pour Vinegar over the entire bag until the vinegar is just covering the bag, 1/4" is fine, or the top layer of the bagg is really soaking good. Let the bage 'rinse' in this by just setting it aside, I use the top/lid of the washing machine set the pan with the bag and the vinegar(stright out of the bottle Do Not delute with water).
6 hours is OK, but I prefer to let it soak for overnight. Pick it up and wring it out Relly Good, hang it somewhere, so that the dripping of the vinegar wont land on something you plan to keep. Let it totally dry out, Put it in a sealable Zip-lock(leave seal slightly cracked at one end & then just store until needed, or store it out of the bag where nothing will get to it or ON IT.
It works good this rinse, as Vinegar is a slight acid, to take the Chlorine salts out of the material, this Rinsing in Venegar Has Got to be done.
Never use 'soap' to wash the the filter sock, bag...Never!
Only Use Bleach to wash in and vinegar to rinse, Only.

"Amazing!"
- Product Review by Ricky Goettel
(Posted on 10/19/07)

Comments: This sock is amazing! I have it on my down tube running into my refugium. I am amazed how much organic matter it collects and it eliminated micro bubbles! I have to clean the sock out every two days it works so well. It doesn't affect my AquaC EV-120 skimmer either. I'm thinking about buying another one to stop the micro bubbles from my skimmer as well. I highly recommend this product.
