Comments: If you're into saltwater and never heard of Calfo you must live under a rock.
I had no doubts that this book would be great and it exceeded my expectations. PLENTY of information that describes the entire process of raising coral. Different setups, how the pros get it done and how you can do it yourself is all described in this book.

The pictures are great and help make things easier to understand. The one thing I wish would have been included was anemones in regards to propagation/info but I understand why they were not.

I don't even own a tank (yet!) but this book makes a superb reference for when I do get one setup.

Comments: Along with "Reef Invertebrates", a must have for every student of reef keeping. Ten minutes after receiving the book I diagnosed a problem with a birdnest coral. Nothing major, "excessive photostimulation", but my reefs are my babies. Great book!

Comments: Another excellent book for beginners, experts and those in between. This book stimulates creative thinking in anyone who wants ideas on how to go about setting up your tank, or anything else and of course propagation itself. Lots of ideas, examples, and humorous at that. The pictures are great too, makes you feel like your right there working along with Anthony himself. You have to get this book.

"Accurate" - Product Review by Corey Mcnamee (Posted on 1/23/08)

Comments: Intro chapters are a good reference for how a beginner such as myself may want to cover the basics. An experienced hand would probably gain insight into paticular areas of care they might have forgotten, or prioritized low in the past and now have time to maximize doing correctly. If one respects Calfo's views and years of experience, which they should, even the well established reefer could gain from Calfo's perspective on areas that he acknowledges as controversial or debateable. The remainder of the book focuses on particular coral families and species. The detail of care for particular corals is very insightful. Even if one already knows much of this........ the many pictures make the book worth opening up.

Comments: This is such a good book. I was waiting for it to come out and I am very happy to have it now. It has a lot more to offer than simply coral propagation techniques. If reefkeeping was an investment, I think that this book, together with Borneman's Aquarium Corals and Calfo and Fenner's Reef Invertebrates would be definite "must haves" for your portfolio. :-)
