Brightwell Aquatics Xport-PO4 350g / 12.3oz Information

Ultra-activated Phosphate-adsorption Media with Superior Performance Characteristics

Overview
  • Utilizes NanoIntelex Technology to create an enhanced, "ultra-activated" material withthe capacity to outperform conventional phosphate-adsorption media by over 500%
  • Removes ~30 - 100 mg phosphate per 1 g of media, dependant upon initial concentration in system.
  • Open structure and high surface area results in superior flow-through characteristics and adsorptive efficiency.
  • Higher adsorptive capacity relative to conventional media results in smaller spacerequirements to achieve equivalent phosphate uptake.
  • Capable of removing phosphate for over 1-year after initial placement in aquatic system.
  • May be used in conjunction with Xport-BIO and Xport-NO3.

"Powerful Stuff!" - Product Review by Arden Hammond (Posted on 7/26/12)

Excellent!

Comments: I've used GFO for years but have sometimes struggled to keep phosphates at zero (I use a Hanna checker for measurements), so I gave some of this a try. I used only 12 cubes on this in a rector (system is 120 gallons total) and my PO4 went from 0.02 to 0.00 overnight. It's been maintained there for a little over a week now with the same 12 cubes. I've seen no ill effects; it seems the media is simply a ceramic base that's FO coated, but that really effectively maximizes surface area. I'll be buying this stuff again for sure.

"Almost Perfect" - Product Review by John Marzich (Posted on 5/28/12)

Great!

Comments: This is extremely powerful as Brightwell quotes. One big problem I had was could never completely rinse and endless iron or gfa etc. would leach back into the tank and the orp probe was all messed up with wild readings.
<br />I pulled it as my phosphate levels in my 180 reef were really low anyway. Calculated it would take gallons and gallons of water to completely rinse and would have to do it 1 piece at a time. But it does do its job way beyond other media.

"Big pieces!" - Product Review by Kyle Kaspar (Posted on 4/5/12)

Excellent!

Comments: Very large and porous "nuggets" compared to the normal small bits of "gfo". POWERFUL STUFF it will actually remove TOO much from the water if you start small and measure po4 regularly this product works faster than any other that i've used!

"Questionable" - Product Review by Hank Oset (Posted on 4/1/12)

Comments: Placed product in sock of a 125 coral tank. In three days my Brains corals would not open, iceman favia was not opening like normal not did my blastos open. I continued to allow the product to remain in filtration for another 5 days. I removed the 2 brains (I had for four years) and within 2 days they open nicely in a friends tank. A total of 14 days total I removed the other two brains and within 12 hours they looked great in a friends tank. My nitrate did go down a very little and I realize I did not give it a chance to work thoroughly but... 15 days later I removed the product (Saturday) and I did another partial (20 gal) and I am running carbon for 3-4 day (Mon.-Tues.). I will see if my other corals liven up . I will see this sweek.
