"RO system"
- Product Review by Ivan Lorenzana

Comments: one star only because the setup was pretty simple, but as soon as i got everything hooked up and turned the water on one of the filter canisters began to spray water out. i looked and noticed the o-ring kinked, so i applied some teflon putty and it did the trick. water was flowing, pressure was holding; so after about 3 hours of checking i was happy and went to sleep. next morning i woke up and went to check on the ro system and walked into a stream of water flowing from another filter canister...i had enough and replaced with another system. waiting for the new system to arrive. fingers crossed

Comments: I like making my own water and this system appears to do a good job. The two things I dislike are the speed at which it produces the tank water which is quite slow (I get two 5gallon canisters of waste water to one 5gallon canister of tank water, which seems like quite a waste. So, I purchased a water cooler so that I can stop wasting so much water). Second is that the instructions were not very clear, but I contacted customer support and they were awesome, providing me with answers via links I could watch or via email. Thanks

Comments: My recent R.O. filter purchase has been a positive experience, I am very satisfied with the captive purity brand. The water quality it produces is above average and very efficient in production time. For the price it is so far the best filter I've purchased to date out of four over 12 years. Thankyou again!

"Makes Great Water"
- Product Review by Alan Rich

Comments: It was very easy to get it working. I would guess that the product/waste ratio is 5:1. I was going to install it under my tank for topoff where I have an existing water supply and drain. But after seeing how much waste water is produced, I left the unit unattached and drain the waste water into my pool. Or I find other uses for it.

My incoming TDS is over 400, and it comes out at 000. I have only had the unit for a few weeks, so I don't know how long the filters will last.

Comments: Good unit from what I can see so far. Simple to install and the canisters are very solid. My only complaint is that the bracket the canisters attach to feels flimsy compared to the rest of the system.

"Captive Purity RO/DI"

Comments: I purchased a R/O machine from my LFS and it didnt work very well. I tested the finish product water and found that it was as dirty as the water going in. I took it back and they gave me a new one. It didnt work either. I ordered the captive purity RO/DI from Marine Depot and found it to be perfect. Easy setup and clean water production. Marine Depot even answered all my questions on setting up a float valve to my unit. I recommend this product for anyone who wants pristine water in there tank.

Comments: I called Marine Depot and talked with Daniel. He was a tremendous help in selecting the right system for our needs. The Captive Purity 75 GPD works even better than I expected but the direction leave a lot to be desired. There does't seem to be an on line help from the manufacturer either.

"Not if you have well water"
- Product Review by Kole Smith

Comments: The filter works really well, produces about 40 gal per day on well water. What stinks is that after 50 gallons, we needed to replace ALL the filters...expensive if you just bought the unit.

Comments: I love this filter system. The instructions were a bit confusing but once you figure it out, it's very easy to work. My tanks are loving the water! The reader is also very nice as it tells you how much crap it's taking out of your water.
Overall, a great product!!!

"Works Great!"

Comments: I have a 240 gallon tank and my tap water is terrible. Lugging containers to the local store to buy water was impractical. This unit provides me with 70 gallons of water every 24 hours. Plenty for all my tanks and then some. I get 360ppm going in and 000ppm coming out. The digital TDS meter is great so I know when the cartidges need replacing. No guessing by them changing color.

"Great Value"
- Product Review by Joe Dennis Hill
(Posted on 12/14/07)

Comments: Top-of-the-line system at a value price. Having had several RODI's in the past, I like this one the best. Good construction (although the white plastic "tray" where the canister attach could be a little heavier duty). The canisters themselves are quite beefy, and I imaging could take a lot of abuse. Clear canisters are a must, as I tend to let filters go to long, and this way, you get a visual check every time you use the system. Electronic water quality meter measures incoming and outgoing water, which is fun feature. The quick connect fittings make hookup deceptively easy. Also convenient that this comes with a standard garden hose type fitting.

Comments: Had this item for almost a year. I make about 50 gallons a week and TDS readings are still at zero; thats very good considering my source water is at 300+. This product is great and I dont any reason to get more expensive units that perform exactly the same.
