CaribSea Dry Aragonite Fiji Pink Reef Sand 15 lb Information

Believe it or not, the sand that you choose for you fish or reef aquarium has great and dramatic impact in the health and look of you aquarium. The superficial impact is very obvious because if you choose the wrong the wrong sand or substrate, the aquarium might look either dirty or unnatural. But going deeper than mere looks, your choice of reef sand actually affects the health of your tank’s fish and plant life. If you pick a regular sand, it might not contribute enough calcium, trace elements and carbonate particles to your reef or your fishes. At the same time, the wrong choice of substrate might impact the pH balance of your water.

If you are looking for a substrate that can help maintain the pH level of your sea water aquarium and can aid with the calcium level necessary for your reef as well as you fishes, try the Caribsea Dry Aragonite Fiji Pink Reef Sand from Pet Store. This is a great choice for a substrate because it acts as a buffer for your water’s pH and delivers a lot of calcium, trace elements and carbonate particles to your fishes and coral reefs. As an added bonus, there is no rinsing involved. So, keep you aquarium happier and healthier for a long time. Try the Caribsea Dry Aragonite Fiji Pink Reef Sand today. It will surely create a great difference to your aquarium.

CaribSea Dry Aragonite Fiji Pink Reef Sand 15 lb Reviews

"Fiji Pink sand" - Product Review by Jeff Shaffar (Posted on 6/28/12)

Excellent!

Comments: This sand is a smaller grain size that will work well for a sand sifter Goby (which is my next purchase to keep it looking as white as it does)! Great product for my next FOWLR tank.

"Perfect" - Product Review by Chad Dockery (Posted on 11/28/08)

Excellent!

Comments: I don't normally write reviews, but I spent a lot of time trying to figure out which sand to buy. I thought my review might help. I bought several different types of sand to compare. After careful consideration, Fiji pink was the sand I chose. It normally comes in "live sand" form. Meaning it's packed in a bag with saltwater. This bag was not advertised as live but it did arrive fairly moist. I did not have to rinse it. It looked dark in the bag but once it was in my tank it was almost white, with a SLIGHT pinkish hint to it in some areas. The grain size is perfect, not too big and not too small.

"low phosphates" - Product Review by Robert Seavey (Posted on 5/27/08)

Excellent!

Comments: I specifically picked this product for its grain size after doing extensive research. It turns out that studies have found little difference between the nitrate processing capacities of different depths and types of sandbeds. The main difference these studies found was the ability of the sandbed to "buffer" against phosphates. It was found that tanks with small (without being too small) grain size sandbeds have lower phosphates. I found this product while looking for appropriately sized sand. I really like the color. I was hoping it wouldn't be too pink. Thankfully it's more of a white color that looks very natural but glows a nice pinkish orange hue under metal halide lighting.

"Not quite what I was expecting" - Product Review by Caren Clark (Posted on 1/11/08)

Great!

Comments: The grains are uniformly shaped with no larger pieces of shell or rubble, so the picture is a bit deceptive. If you need more rubble/shells so critters can tunnel or close up entrances to caves, this might not be the best choice. I'll definitely need to seed this with live sand that contains more rubble. I haven't seen what it looks like in the tank under lights yet, but the color isn't pink at all in the bag.

Great!

Comments: This sand actually has a nice pink hue to it when using a MH. Grain size has been nice for my goby. I was expecting more little shells and such
