"Love it"
- Product Review by Randi Horlick

Comments: Never looks dirty and not having any PH issues. As for it being magnetic, its baloney, this stuff sits on the bottom of the tank and does not get pulled into the mag float when I am cleaning the glass. Great if you want your corals and fish to POP.

"Good Color"
- Product Review by Kyle Lyon

Comments: I use this in two different tanks. One nano 5g reef and a 200g reef. The sand is fine so dont expect to point a power head at it but it doesnt blow around either of my tanks. It makes colors pop. The big plus is it doesnt show waste as bad as white sand.

Comments: I had done my research and this substrate was exactly what I wanted for my new 75 gallon aquarium. The black sand is very beautiful and makes the colors of my African Cicchlids "pop".

"black sand"
- Product Review by Gary Paradise
(Posted on 1/11/10)

Comments: We purchased the black sand for our saltwater reef tank it was just how it was described and came promptly with good packaging. for others buying this product for a reef type set up id suggest getting a bigger grain to mix with it because alone the sand floats across the bottom too much with the high current we use in our reef tank but all in all a good product

"Pretty neat"

Comments: Under the right lighting, this sand looks amazing. I had it under bright lights at first and you could see some white and yellow specs everywhere, but now with my new setup this sand really brings out my ornaments and the colors of my fish.

"Warning!"
- Product Review by Gail Fetter
(Posted on 1/1/09)
-
Comments: The sand looks great in the tank, however be warned that it is magnetic and will adhere to Tunze magnets, Scrapers, or anything else it comes in contact with. My wife scratched the tank not seeing that some had collected on a feeding clip.

Then begs the questions, what metals are in it? Obviously nothing too toxic as she's ran this sand in her tank for 8 months and everything looks great. However, having known it was magnetic, I certainly woudln't have used this in both of my tanks.

"color contrast, subtle glitter"
- Product Review by Nils Loewen
(Posted on 6/10/08)

Comments: Set-up suggestion: black frame 5 gallon AGA tank, black Viper 70 halide, black Taihitan moon sand, HYDOR MINI HEATER 7.5W that comes on at night (no temperature control but is not needed) and a Zoo Med Micro Pump 104 for additional agitation. No heat issues even in Chicago summers. SPS, leather, trumpet corals do well. No pH instability despite lack of buffering capability.

Comments: Looks great in the tank!! But extra dusty coming out of the bag. Would allow 2-4 days for tank to cycle and clear up from substrate.

"Great Product,bad handling fee"
- Product Review by Scott Smith
(Posted on 10/4/07)

Comments: I use this product already so I knew what I was getting. Great Product, just rinse it ALOT...like 30-40 times before using to get the dust off. I use it in an all African Mbuna 75 gallon tank with about 100 lbs of lace rock. LOOKS INCREDIBLE!I disagree with the $8 "Handling Fee" concept I was explained.

"Black Tahitian"
- Product Review by Gerrifrances Walker
(Posted on 9/25/07)

Comments: Excellent for a fish only tank or a tank with deco. Looks a bit different with the live rock. I love the color textures of the sand. A wonderful price. The only thing is that it took forever to clean after I received it. But once in my tank it dropped like rock into tank...no mess.

Comments: Beautiful fine sand that sparkles in the aquarium. Perfect for growing plants when combined with an underlayer of plant substrate. Cory cats do well with this sand and it helps everything in the tank's colors just "pop"!

Comments: This sand looks great in my new 100 gallon bowfront aquarium!! I hope that my Oscar will enjoy it as much as we like to look at it! Its black, with small brown specks in it, and it sparkles! It takes alittle time to wash out, so be patient, but in the end it looks great!
