- Product Review by Joseph Romph
(Posted on 7/25/12)

Comments: Ordered the one that I tought would fit based on the measurement instructions. When it arrived, was way too large. So I took the easy way out - since I've got to send something back anyway, I ordered a bunch of them at the same time. Have picked the one that fits and will now send back all the others. Appears to be a decent product. Certainly is affordable, now just need to get the bitch used to it!

"Repeate Muzzle Buyer"
- Product Review by Kelly Schlesinger
(Posted on 9/23/11)

Comments: My border collie needs a muzzle because he eats what he shouldn't and has had three (!) surgeries for obstructions. It was easy to teach him to wear this muzzle by giving him lots of treats and he is happy in it. He wears it when he is running loose in the yard unsupervised so he is in it for short periods of time. He is able to drink, pant, and bark with it on. The padded nose piece does not rub his hair. My only criticism of it is that he broke it playing with his soccer ball. I had to replace it, but had no issue buying the same muzzle agaom because I was happy with it and it is not too expensive.

Comments: I purchased the plastic basket dog muzzle at the request of our dog trainer. She is a certified master trainer. We found the muzzle to be very easy to put on and it is very comfortable for our beloved minature schnauzer. He adjusted to it in a very short time. We are very pleased with the comfort and durability of this product.

"Plastic Basket Muzzle"
- Product Review by Janet Pike
(Posted on 5/1/11)

Comments: These muzzles are a great value. They are a good fit and wear well. The basket style lets the dogs drink while wearing them. I have used one for my greyhound for racing for over 6 months. I like the fact that there is padding in the top of the nose. The greyhound kennel muzzles don't have that.

"Okay product; poor sizing inst"
- Product Review by Timothy Fritz
(Posted on 3/30/11)
-
Comments: This product is cheaply constructed but it does the job. For the money, it is a good value.

The sizing instructions are terrible, however. The instructions say to "Measure from between the dog's eyes to the tip of the nose." But if you look at the picture, the muzzle only comes up the nose a little over halfway between the nose and the eyes. When I measure my lab, the nose-to-eyes measurement was 4", which is off the sizing chart, and my lab is not that big.

So far I've ordered two of these and guessed at the sizing each time. I got one right and one wrong. I haven't decided yet if it's worth the cost of sending the one back.

"Small and smelly!"
- Product Review by Jodie Snider
(Posted on 3/28/11)
-
Comments: I have no complaints about the website's customer service, I certainly will purchase from them again even though I am not entirely pleased with this product. The quality of the muzzle is very good. My dog is an American Staffordshire, measuring from his eyebrows to tip of nose measured 4 1/2" so I ordered a size 6 to be safe and his nose is still pressed against the end of the muzzle. Another thing that odd about this muzzle is the smell. It has a strong odor that was foul to me and (understandably) extremely foul to my dog. I washed it in mild soap and smeared moist dog treats on it, then put it outside for days to air out, the strong smell will not go away.

"Disappointed"
- Product Review by Alexis Loomer
(Posted on 3/18/11)
-
Comments: I got this muzzle to because one of my dogs really liked to chew on things, and I hated crating her all day when I was at work. So I got this muzzle so that she could run around freely in the house with our other dog and also be able to drink water.

I put the muzzle on and it fit like a glove. However, I left the house for about 15mins to give it a little "test run" and when I returned, she had it off! I put that muzzle on her very very snug and I even pulled on it like she would be able to and it didn't budge. AND not only did she get it off, but she ate it as well. I'm not sure if my other dog helped her get it off some how. None the less, I was quite dis-satissfied.

If you will be able to supervise your pet while they wear it, then I'm sure it'll work great. However, I wouldn't plan to leave you pet unattended with it on.

"The Best"
- Product Review by Sandra Harknett
(Posted on 3/8/11)
-
Comments: I own Purrfect Pooches Dog Training in PA and these are perfect for the occasional dog that starts barking too much in class or gets a bit too (aggressively) nippy at play time. They are also great for the dog that needs a bit of calming when cutting the toe nails. These are a very non confrontation way to restrain your dog. The dog can also breathe better than the nylon muzzles. A not of caution however, most dogs cannot open their mouth enough for full panting, so don't use them for extended periods of time. Comments: Basket muzzle seems to be working well keeping my cocker spaniel from eating stones. I went a little smaller than the instructions stated since cockers have a shorter nose than the dog in the picture. It works well when he is on the leash but when he isn't, after a short time he gets it off. I think it is a good product.

"Personalize them"
- Product Review by Lori Stetson
(Posted on 2/5/11)
-
Comments: We have two standard poodles, so purchased two muzzles. We quickly learned that they must be fitted to the dog wearing them. SP 1 has a longer nose than SP2. If I placed the muzzle worn by SP1 on SP2, SP2 soon had the muzzle removed from her nose and wore it like a necklace. SP1 found the muzzle was too tight and pinched, if I didn't adjust it to each dog each time they wear them. I used a permanent marker to write their names on their muzzle so the muzzles do not need to be adjusted each time used. These 2, 2 year old Standard Poodles were eating anything and every thing including poo! The muzzles prevented foreign matter entering in my dogs. I am very pleased! THANK YOU!

"Great Product!!"
- Product Review by Jean Hoeppner
(Posted on 1/21/11)

Comments: Size fits much better than 9 which was originally ordered based on measurements. He could get this one off!! Bought for recently adopted dog who is afraid of grooming shaver. Allows dog to breathe & bark better than soft muzzle from vet. However, caution if dog starts to swing head back & forth as the muzzle is hard plastic. Teeth can come out the side in line with the "weave" of the plastic but dog is unable to bite. Will use while he gets adjusted to walks and socializing. Thanks for a great product!

Comments: A basket muzzle was necessary for my GSD who had had surgery twice to remove objects from her stomach and intestines. The University of Wisconsin Madison Vet Hopsital recommended this type of muzzle. I found the Pet Store had the exact product at the best price anywhere. I received my muzzle quickly and was exactly as described. This muzzle is light weight and easy to put on. I am very pleased with my purchase and service from the PetStore and will make more purchases from them.

Comments: Fit is great and works great for what I wanted....I way to pill my dog when no other method was working along with a pill popper...without the risk of getting bitten. The only time my dog gets snippy is when I have to force something at her face area like pills so when she all of a sudden decided NO food source or trick including pill pockets, gravy, cheese, etc, etc, etc was going to hide her thyroid deramaxx and tramadol which she needs...this muzzle allowed just enough room to slide in a pill popper and enough room for me to open and close her jaw without risk of being snapped at. Thanks....now if I could just convince her to go back to the darn cheese so I didn't feel like a mean mom twice a day :)

Comments: We used this product to prevent our female Lab from removing surgical staples since she could not tolerate an e-collar. It did the job! The additional nose piece kept her tongue in the muzzle, away from the incision. All we needed to do was to affix a piece of material on the sides to prevent her from sticking her tongue out the side to lick the incision. Quality product for the price and was well tolerated by our dog.

Comments: I was definitely surprised at how well made these muzzles are. They must be comfortable because my dogs never tried to get them off. I am hoping these are just a training aid but would certainly recommend them if needed. Size 4 was exactly what size I needed. My measurements were iffy but I researched many sites and decided this was where to start. Thankfully the size was perfect.

(Posted on 10/31/10)

Comments: The muzzles arrived in good time, were easy to adjust and put on. We have a 501c3 dog rescue and many times the different personalities clash, making more work for us to seperate the ones who are a problem. The muzzles effectively prevented our dogs from being able to nip at each other, and had an added bonus of being a barrier to poop eating! Still allows for drinking, and they accepted them with little resistence. Highly recommend , wish i had known about it sooner!

Comments: I was very pleased with this muzzle. Our dog could breathe, drink water, and bark, it is very humane. Most importantly though it kept him from biting. He did manage to get it off his nose a few times though before I adjusted the strap and ran it through one of the slots on the side. After I did that he couldn't get it off and it worked great.
I ordered it with the two day shipping and it arrived in time.
For the price it is a great muzzle. I also appreciated the padding where it sits on the dogs nose.
A great store to buy from, Thank you so much.

Comments: The muzzle fits great. It must be comfortable because he does not struggle to remove it like he does with a regular muzzle or the nose lead collar. I recently took him to socialize with other dogs and it did not fall off. I do wish there was some clip attatchment that I can hook to his current collar for more secure control.

(Posted on 7/31/10)

Comments: My dog is far from aggresive, but we do have a problem with Bufo Toads and almost lost her once. No matter how closely we watch her or how short the leash she still manages to find them. We tried this muzzle out right away and the next morning it prevented her from picking up a very large toad. In my opinion it has already paid for itself.

The only recommendation I would make to the manufacturers is to put a sturdier catch on it.

Comments: After reading all the reviews that said to order a size or two bigger and measuring my dog carefully, even comparing it to the other sites with the same muzzle I ordered a muzzle way tooooo large, by at least a couple of sizes. So back to the drawing board. I think when I get the correct size it will work perfect for what I want. My Australian Shepherd does not like the vet and we have to muzzle him. I do not like those muzzles that are so tight around his mouth, they must hurt so I wanted this muzzle for taking him to the vet.

"Helpful for dog who eats junk"
- Product Review by Leslie Marsh
(Posted on 7/9/10)
-
Comments: This muzzle has been helpful in keeping our German Shepherd from eating grass, cat feces, acorns, etc. I like the inset section that is 1/4" from the end of the muzzle because even though our dog shoves her nose into the dirt, the dirt is caught before it actually gets through to her nose and mouth. I am able to push pieces of her food through the sides when I want to reward her. Although I tried hard to measure accurately before ordering, I still selected a muzzle that I believe is a size or two too small.

"plastic basket muzzle"
- Product Review by Connie Rogers
(Posted on 6/19/10)

Comments: The quality of the basket muzzle is great. The measurements however are not accurate.
The directions tell you to measure from between the dogs eyes to the end of his nose - but please follow the photo and not the directions. You actually measure from about halfway down the dogs snout to the end of his nose and from the start of his chin to the
neck for the second measurement. I actually think that I should have ordered the next size up for my dachshund. the size three is a little short for his long snout and he has trouble breathing. I may use this one for my female who has a shorter snout and order the next longer size for my male. The muzzle is great - is constructed to last and allows for much better ventilation than our previous mesh muzzles did. will work great when I get the correct size. Will definitely order again. It is exactly as described except for the measuring instructions.

Comments: My dog hates this muzzle but she needs one since she does not like other dogs. Obedience instructor recommended a basket muzzle for her so other dogs in the class would be safe. I just got in from a walk and she managed to get the basket off when she saw the neighbors dog outside--where there is a will there is a way and she always manages to find a way. I'm still in search of something my little houdini can't get out of! The basket does seem to be made well but is of no use when it dosn't stay on the dog.

Comments: I have gone through quite a few wire muzzles for my dog and this plastic one was just want I needed. It's comfortable and flexible on his face. Easy to put treats into, even if they have to be bigger pieces so he can get them. I really like the comfort padding on the nose as well. It took me forever to find a muzzle that had a click buckle which is very handy. Overall this is a great product.

Comments: I used the muzzle today for a race my dog was entered in. It worked great. The only time it came off is when my finger got stuck in the strap and my dog chased the lure at the same time. So, it was my fault and not the muzzle's. I am happy with it. Many dogs showed up without muzzles and had to borrow. I am glad I came prepared.

"measuring instructions unclear"
- Product Review by Ronald Sowder
(Posted on 12/12/08)

Comments: I did receive the muzzle, however it was too large. I measured our dogs nose area they way I thought the directions stated but the muzzle was way too big and our dog easily took her paw and pulled it right off. We have a 9 month old full size collie. She is full stock and can be registered, but after several tries with the muzzle, she pulled it right off. I was going to return it, but by the time I pay shipping back to you and shipping for a replacement muzzle, I might as well forget the whole experience as a loss. The product seemed to be just O.K. but the harness assembly won't hold on any dogs head no matter how it's adjusted. As usual, buying using pictures isn't a good idea!
