"great light, lousy quality"
- Product Review by Simon Katz

Comments: Great light for the price, brightens up the tank very well. The bulbs in mine have lasted 2-3 years until the 10k burned out. The sockets on both bulbs are melting slightly. what good is a fish tank light that melts and that might short out and burn the house down!!! for as much as we pay for our lighting they should offer replacement sockets.

Comments: I have used this before and like it. For the cost, it gives you good lighting for a reef tank with plenty of soft corals. My frogspawns stretch out nicely when this light comes on.

Comments: I have had this light system for the last 7 months without any problems. This system provides great lighting in my reef tank. Only con with this unit is trying to find a replacement bracket for the light system. My wonderful wife somehow broke it trying to feed the fish one day. I have not been able to find a place that sells the replacement brackets.

Comments: I love the light, but the down side is that when the moon light burn out there no replacement, and if anyone that is about to replace the double linear 65 watt bulb be sure to check your water temp because the water temp will go up about 2 or 3 degree.I learn the hard way and half of my fish die.

Comments: I love my new light!!! The tank just seemed to come to life. My husband even commented on how bright it was and he usually just passes by the tank. My favorite feature is the moon glow lamps. It is so peaceful to sit and get lost in the shimmery light.

Comments: The Lunar Blue Light is awesome on my clown fish, their stripes light up like its a black light. I can hear the cooling fan but it's no louder then my filter. Seperate light switches was a plus seems a bang for a buck. SO FAR!

"Nice for the price"
- Product Review by Robert Fink
(Posted on 9/8/09)

Comments: Overall, this is a nice light and has everything as advertised. Lamp does heat up quite a bit, but fans seem to be sufficient for cooling. I gave three stars due to the fact that fans are a bit noisy, though not overwhelming by any means. Also, the plastic offsets for mounting over tank are flimsy and lack vertical adjustments.

Comments: For the price I paid and the features this fixture has, it's a great purchase. The two cooling fans on top do not produce any noise at all, mounting legs are easy to set and the on-off switches are protected with a rubber cap to avoid corrosion from saltwater.

Comments: This light provides a separate ballast for each lamp making it possible to bring a true to life light cycle. Where I can turn on the actinic then the 10k for a sunrise effect and the reverse for a sunset. The lamps are super bright, no worries about light deficiency.

"Brilliant, but LOUD"
- Product Review by James Haug
(Posted on 4/16/09)

Comments: I am pretty new to the whole salt water scene, so I did alot of research. The factor that made me buy this light was that it had three different cords and the current fixture only had two. I am extremely happy with this light, however, the fan is extremely noisy whenever the daylight bulb comes on. It does not feel as if it is getting too hot while running and I am thinking about disabling this noise maker. Other than that, it is a great product.

"Good Product"
- Product Review by Mark Bauernfeind

Comments: Everything I was hoping for. Lunar lights are aesthetically pleasing, maybe not as real as the actual moonlight would be, but definitely appealing. The cooling fans on top (rather than the ends) of the light enclosure are a perfect solution for those of us with tank hoods. Some reviews stated displeasure with the noise from the fans, but the ones in our new unit are essentially silent. Probably just blend in with the low-level noise from the pumps, sump cooling fan, and skimmer overflow in the cabinet beneath our 55 gal display reef. Product seems to be well constructed, works as advertised, easily installed, and the pricing is about right for what you get. Glad I took a chance on this upgrade for my system.

"Love"

Comments: I love my new lights. I struggled for months on a new light purchase before finally settling on these. I am glad that I did.

I have 55 gallon, 48 inch wide tank. These lights fit perfect and produce a tremendous amount of light. My inverts are happy and I can start putting afew corals in. Just what I wanted.

I was concerned about noise from other reviews. Honestly, I can't hear the fan run. It has been of no bother to me. More importantly though, the fan produces no vibration and thus no additional sound. That would have driven me crazy.

The mounting legs work incredibly well. They provide for a very secure fit to the tank. A fit that is easily adlustable. I have no conerns that the light will get bumped and fall off.

I can move these lights forward and back on my tank. Most of the time, I set them at the extreme forward edge for the best lighting of the front of the tank. However, with a slight push, the lights move to the back edge and I can easily feed my hungry friends.

There are three power cords which I have now hooked up to two timers. I can adjust the timers to provide controlled lighting.

Overall, I am very pleased and would definitely purchase again.

Good luck and enjoy.

"Lighting Lemon"
- Product Review by Paul Ehlen
(Posted on 2/10/09)

Comments: Unfortunately, I had a number of problems right away with the fixture and am returning it in favor of a Current T5 fixture. First night, the lunar lights were fading in and out and continue to do so. Second day, fan started making a high pitched whining noise. Third day, daylight bulb went out. I don't know if this is an anomoly or if Coralife has lowered their manufacturing standards. My other Coralife PC fixture has lasted fine. It's unlikely I will purchase another Coralife fixture. Thanks to Marine Depot for making the return/exchange easy as feeding a clown fish.

Comments: Just purchesed this light a couple of weeks ago. Very pleased. This unit is not to noisy and dosen't seem to produce a hole lot of heat. I now realize I should have gone for atleast a 150w T5 if not higher since I will be adding coral soon but these lights seem to be doing the trick for now. It would have been nice if they had included a third L.E.D.

Comments: I love this light!! Came exceptionally wrapped and secure. Easy set up (works best if you also purchase the coralife timer) and you can just see the difference right away. I'm very happy with it and my kids love the lunar lights at night. The biggest complaint I heard was the fans but I barely hear them at all. Great product!!

Comments: The Aqualight was exactly as described and shipped right away. It arrived 3 days later double boxed with bubble wrap. Unpacked it, plugged it in, no problems. Works great and I do not think the fan is very noisy as some other reviewers wrote. Overall great value and exactly what I expected.
I would give it 5 stars if not for the poorly planned mounting legs, but if you're creative don't fret, you can't buy a better value system at this price.

Comments: Very nice light, i like the way it lights up the tank. The Lunar lights are great too, but the power inverter i got with the lunar lights sucked, i had to replace it because the lights were sporadic and would go from bright to dim.

"Great Lighting... Very Noisy!"
- Product Review by Gregory Pazour
(Posted on 5/25/08)
-
Comments: Previously had an earlier version of this light, but after 5 years it needed replacement. That version tended to run hot which resulted in the CFC lamp sockets to slightly melt. The new version added more ventilation and fewer ballasts so it seemed like it would run cooler.

First the good - it runs cooler and the light it throws is great. The night LED's have been increased from 3 to 4 which dramatically improves the tank look since before the middle LED was over the mid support spar blocking it from the tank.

Now the bad - the fans have gone from 2 very small on the left (the right was passive) to one 70mm fan on the left (still passive on the right). However this 70mm is fairly loud (probably about 32db) which you can hear from 20 feet away. Worse the way it is mounted causes vibrational noise to be created - this is way worse than the fan noise. The result is noise that you can hear in all adjacent rooms and is really distracting.

Since the tank is in the TV room this is a real annoying problem. It seems like they should have had 2 fans (one on either end) running slower (less noise) and should have mounted the fans using vibrational damping (to eliminate vibrational noise).

Unless you plan on putting this light in a noisy environment you should seriously worry about the noise level this will introduce into your home.

"Don't buy this product!"
- Product Review by Lynn Confettiledbetter

Comments: I paid nearly $2000.00 13 months ago for the Coralife Aqua Pro 72" with the moonglo, 250watt halide light and four flouroscent tubes. The lighting is great and it worked really well until the on/off switch for the flourescent tubes shorted out.

I have tried to go through more than 20 dealers to get this switch, I have contacted Coralife direct and have had no luck. I'm told to go to Home depot and buy something to "gerry-rig" on the system. If I am going to pay nearly $2000.00 for a light system, there should be replacement parts available. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!

"1 year of use"
- Product Review by Ben Schaller
(Posted on 4/6/08)

Comments: I purchased the lunar aqualights 1 year ago to use over a 30gal reef. The lights run cool, and I replaced the bulbs after nine months ($80) I keep mushrooms, anthelia, pulsing xenia, frogspawn, gsp, sinularia, zoanthids, and ricordia under them very successfully. Everything is growing like crazy. I recently had one of the leds burnout $10 plus shipping to replace.
I don't think I would buy again due to the early failure of the led, the short life of the bulbs ~8 months, and the cost of the bulbs. I am not disappointed with the lights at all, would just consider the T5's next time, I've heard that you can keep higher light corals under T5's and the bulbs are cheaper and last nearly 2x as long. I do like the way my corals have grown and the way the lights look, the moonlight led's are cool.

Comments: Aquarium lighting for reef tanks can be one of the most intimidating first time purchases. I've had this light for 6 months and did a lot of research before I bout it. It's a great light for a great price and lunar lights are way cool. Everything is modular for easy replacement of ballasts, fans , and lamps. They literally pop right out. The housing looks great and is very durable.

Comments: I had to replace my JBJ PC fixture due to ballast no longer working. This product is designed for easy replacements (bulbs, ballasts, fans). I feel the ballast push more light out of the bulbs that the previous JBJ fixture. This is also my first implementation of moonlights and I have to say that they are totally awesome. I highly recommend this product. Other fixtures may be cheaper, but this one pays in the fact that outside of wiring problems, all parts can be replaced easily (ie without disassembling the fixture).
