"Noisy" - Product Review by Burton Witaschek (Posted on 12/10/11)

Comments: Flow rate seems to be as stated, but the noise level is unacceptable. Rattles like crazy. Perhaps it's because it's new and maybe it will quiet over time. I don't see other's complaining about the noise... we'll see.

Great!

Comments: The 700 gph pump seems to be working smoothly. The large prefilter seems to limit the tendency for leaves to get pulled towards the pump, which is good. It's only been in use a few days, so my experience is very limited.

Excellent!

Comments: I installed the pump in our new fountain and it immediately functioned perfectly. We are very pleased with the pressure and actually had to reduce the water flow to prevent the water from splashing out of the fountain.

Great!

Comments: I have had a couple of these pumps over the years and they run reliably. The pre-filter has been the only issue as it always clogs. I'm looking forward to seeing how the new pre-filter "cage" style will work.

Comments: I should have went bigger. I have a 40 gal cube with a 20 gal. sump. This pump is as close to the Mag-Drive 7 pump as you are going to get and even with only 4 ft head hight it only pushes out about 350 gal/hr. With that being said I would rate this pump as average.

"First time's a Charm!" - Product Review by Justin Cook (Posted on 10/29/10)

Excellent!

Comments: This was the first pump I bought for my tank 6 years ago. It's still the only one I've had to use and it works like a charm. I broke one of the impeller blades and had to get a replacement. It was easy to replace and it's worked like a champ ever since! When I added a second tank this was the pump I got so I have two that are quietly working away.

"Bad for Inline" - Product Review by Scott Emerson (Posted on 6/19/10)
Rating
Unsatisfactory

Comments: This pump leaks. Not much more to say than that. I wanted to use it inline to push water through a uv filter and back into my tank. Drip drip drip. Unscrewed the cover, lubed the O-Ring. Drip drip drip. Good pressure and will work fine submerged. Complete POS for inline purposes. I will be returning it for something of a higher quality.

"Saltwater Guy" - Product Review by David Brown (Posted on 11/11/09)

Great!

Comments: These are great pumps. I've used them for years without any problems at all. They work better submerged vs being mounted externally. The pumps can run a little warmer than other pumps which can lead to temp rise. Overall, a great pump that will last without any hassles, corrosion or rust like some other pumps.

Comments: Not as powerfull as I expected and I've had other brands. Nonetheless, It's compact, quiet and the filter is AAA+. The replacement parts are also a huge plus as well.

Below Average

Comments: I have used pond master pumps of different varieties. They all pump well. However they all break down on a continuous basis. The impellors have been a constant problem as they continually break. When they break they shear the inside of the housing causing it to wear unevenly. These pumps work well if the water is clear and absolutely no obstructions run through the pump. They will wear the inside housing area. Eventually the impellor will not seat correctly wihich will cause the blades to break.

"Reliable pumps" - Product Review by William Fite (Posted on 5/19/09)

Excellent!

Comments: Like all pump manufacturers (yes, every single one), Danner overrates the gph capacity of their pumps. However, the Mag Drive pumps are incredibly reliable, quiet, and fairly priced. A good buy.
