Comments: I use this pump to pump top-off water from the basement to my tank on the main floor. It's about the only submersible high-head pump out there. I've been using it for this purpose for over a year now, and have been quite happy. It's quiet and reliable. This particular application involved the pump spending most of the time turned off. The top off activates about once a day, and runs for about 15 minutes.

Comments: I went for the Danner Pro Hy-Drive 4000 GPH Water Pump as a return pump for my reef system. The display tank is a 240g system with 2 x 3" return drains from an 18" x 6" internal overflow. The pump returns the water from the sump into a 1" manifold feeding 6 x 3/4" returns. The previous pump (Rio 2500) was barely creating flow in the first two returns and nothing from the 5th and 6th returns. With the Danner, I'm getting good flow from all 6 returns with an estimated 2000 gph return after calculating head loss. Coupled with a pair of Turbelle streams in the display, I'm getting good flow throughout the reef system for the LPS and soft corals and livestock. My only disappointment was that the internal hardware is stainless steel and not ceramic, so I will have to replace the pump sooner rather than later, but at a good price, this affords me time to seek out a long-term solution.

Comments: I love the pump for functionality and flexibility, that being said I had the same problem with the pump stopping and contact the company. They told me that I should have cleaned it more often and they sent me out a new rotor under warranty. I have now been running the new one for about a month and just tried to "clean" the pump and that is the HATE part. This pump is a real pain to get apart, almost impossible.

Comments: OK, so the other guy got a bum pump - bound to happen.I ran danner supreme's for the past 15 years - works great for all those years, but they were loud and hot. I picked up this Prop HY-Drive last year and OMG, simply amazing ! Its quiet, powerful and throws no heat. The main point is that it is VERY quiet.I stopped in here to buy another pump just now and decided I had to drop a review.

Comments: I bought this pump and had it inline for about 6 months when it quit. Just stopped working one day. I would not recommend this pump.

Comments: I really don't like to write bad reviews, but I don't want someone to have the same experience I had. I had the pump running for 6 weeks, and it just stopped running. I sent the pump back to the manufacturer for a replacement, it has been over 2 months and I cannot get a response from back from them about the status of the pump. I'm switching to ReeFlo.

Comments: The Danner Pro HY Drive 4800 GPH water pump is easy to install, with added additional 1-1/2" O-ring tight fitting and PVC teflon tapable threads. The pump is reasonably quiet with a fairly decent anticipated expectation of waterflow (Used for a 3' waterfall/biofilter box into 2500 gal. pond).
<br />This pump seems well priced in comparison to my last pump of equal specs, but over twice the price. My last pump ran straight 24/7 for 7 years, so we'll see if this turns out to be a bargain.
