"The BEST Faux Coral On The Planet" - Product Review by Peter Suslock (Posted on 1/15/13)
Rating
Excellent!

Comments: Deep Blue makes the most remarkable faux coral on the planet. It's just gorgeous and this particular piece is my all time favorite.

For over thirty five years I've been keeping Fancy Goldfish, as a side line I also have an aquarium design company and use these products frequently. For my own particular style I prefer a minimalist appearance to my tanks. I use glass as a substrate and a piece of coral as a center piece in tanks ranging from 40 - 200 gallons.

The detail is remarkable and this piece is huge at almost 18 inches high - perfect as a centerpiece. Because you can use this faux coral in fresh water, brackish and salt, you can accomplish aquascaping results that would otherwise be impossible.

The piece is quite heavy and made to last. Another huge plus is it can be bleached to remove algae growth and regain the stark white appearance. A good rule of thumb is 20 parts water to one part bleach.

Keep in mind it's imperative to rinse the coral after bleaching for at least two hours and then let it soak in water treated with a product like Prime by Seachem - which will remove and neutralize any trace of ammonia and bleach.

The coral is made from a cold cast poly resin and is completely non toxic. It adds incredible beauty and makes for a dramatic addition to any aquarium. Plus you'll have the satisfaction of knowing our delicate reef system hasn't been compromised.
