Comments: Well as the title states "As Expected", is to say the least. This product from EcoTech has made a world of difference in my tank. I should say for the better, lol. This powerhead by far beats any of it's competitors with design look and performance. I was on the fence for a few months then I finally gave in and let me tell you do not hesitate in this purchase. It will pay for itself, then sit back and enjoy the waves!!!!!!

Comments: I have been using the MP10 now for 2 years and their amazing. I love all the settings and wide range the unit has my SPS look amazing and seem to love the nutrient mode. I'm just overall shocked that they run so good and have zero problems. Been on nonstop for 2 years at full speed and have yet to have a single problem I have never even had to clean it. I will be buying another one for sure. The price is a setback but for the performance and quality of this product makes it worth the money.

"You cant go wrong with this"
- Product Review by Curtis Padgett
(Posted on 4/24/12)

Comments: I bought this for a 40 gallon bare bottom mixed reef tank.I already have 400 gallons per hour going through my tank from my return pump.I wanted a higher turn over rate because of the sps corals I have. One of these power heads was more than enough.I run mine on reef crest at about 60%.Full power is to much I use that when I want to export nutrients befor I change my filter sock.I like the fact that you change the amount of flow you desire to meet your needs. It is well built and of the highest quality.Dont be alarmed if they are a little noisy at first. After a few days they break in and you cant hear
it running. There is no need for any other power heads because this moves all the water you would need for a 40 gallon with a good return pump and sump system. The only problem I had was with the operating instructions.I downloaded the full manual from their web page and watched videos on you tube.I plan at a later date setting up a 200 gallon reef tank and at that time will incorperate these into my next build.

Comments: If your going for a SPS and LPS dominant tank then this is a must!! I used to have the Koralias the oceanstreams and such but was always disappointed. I have this MP10 in my 20Long nano reef and it keeps my rock clean, the detritus suspended, and my corals and fish LOVE IT. Actually I love it!! It is fun to quickly change the settings for a day or when visitors come, reef crest, short pulse, long pulse, nutrient export, WAVES! Total control and awesomeness in 1 powerhead.

"Best pump on the market"
- Product Review by Bryce Risley
(Posted on 1/21/12)
-
Comments: Having owned multiple MP10's I have always been astonished at the fitness of this products performance. It is very silent, very diverse in its features, and very effective at circulating water for a healthy tank. The only faults I've had with this product were a series of technical flaws. Ex: failure of the magnetic bond during operation, and one unit that made an unnatural amount of noise. Overall great product! Highly recommend it!

Comments: Well I purchased this because everyone was saying how awesome they were and how much of a difference they make so I decided to take the plunge and get it. I was very impressed with the ease of setup. Once it turned on, it kicked up so much crud from all over and inside my rock work. I have a 56 and 1 MP10 is enough to give great flow and get a nice wave going at around 60%-70%. Id turn it up higher but I have a lot of softies and at 100% it blows them around too much! One day I'll get another to sync with my other but for now this is perfect for me. Ferrari of water pumps indeed!

The built in modes are awesome and the short pulse mode is so fun. I noticed my sps are really enjoying the turbulent flow. Comments: Great flow type and easy to set up. Very quiet operating even when turned up. I have nothing bad to say but I have only had the product for a week so far. Comments: This is the best investment I have made in my reef so far. It took care of all my dead spots and I have amazing flow now. I was really surprised how wide the flow is and even corals a few inches in front of it aren't getting blasted. I have greater polyp extension on my SPS than I have ever seen before. I definitely recommend downloading the online instructions since the small booklet that comes with it was very basic It is a great product!

"MUST HAVE!"
- Product Review by Otis Glamore
(Posted on 10/7/11)
-
Comments: I have used a Vortech for a year or so ( I thought it was dying, which is why I purchased this one...turned out it was merely set too low) and it absolutely changed everything. First, it is very discrete in the tank, since I am obsessed with hiding anything "unnatural" to the reef. Placed on the back, in the middle, one single pump creates flows that cover almost the entire tank (72 Bowfront). The driver allows a variety of flow settings,
simulating wave actions that have caused my corals to flourish, growing and spreading
over virtually the entire reef.
I would recommend this product to anyone who seriously wants to see a healthy, thriving reef community!

"Corals seem to love it."
- Product Review by Michael Wiley
(Posted on 9/19/11)

Comments: I loved the first one I bought so much that I just bought a second one. When the second one arrived I hadn't really thought about it, but I thought maybe they would both work off the same power supply or there would be an included cable so that they could talk to each other and the wireless version just made it less cluttered, however that's not the case. In order to get them to sync you need to purchase the wireless version or upgrade your non wireless versions with the chip that's available from EcoTech. It was the same price difference as if I'd just bought the wireless version except now I have to open up the case and install the chip to make my non wireless versions able to talk to each other. I work in IT and am pretty proficient when it comes to electronics, but I could see this posing a problem for a person who was technologically challenged and just wanted to make sure that other people know that if you want to use two of them and have them sync you're going to need to go with the wireless version or upgrade your non wireless versions to wireless.

"worth every penny"
- Product Review by Chris Mcneil

Comments: I have owned all kinds of flow pumps through out the years and none can compare to the mp-10. I have had koralias, tunzes, modded maxijets and none of them come lose to the mp-10 for gph/watt ratio and ease of use. I usually like to run my pumps in wave mode, while the tunze 6055 is capable of doing this the vortec does it better. The only complaint I have about the vortecs is you cant adjust the angle the pump goes but since it puts out such a wide flow that really isnt an issue.having rimless tanks these pumps are almost a must for a clean elegant look with no wires seen.if you want hight flow for a small tank then look no further and get a vortec mp-10m,you wont be disapointed,i know im not.

"Great Product"
- Product Review by Angelo Sanchez
(Posted on 3/28/11)
-
Comments: I was very impressed even while unboxing! Packing materials and included supplies are excellent, and the quality of the parts is amazing. It was very easy to install and setup, and the amount of flow this thing can produce is amazing at full blast, though mine is dialed in around 50% now as that's more than adequate. The adjustability is great too, allowing you to suit flow levels to your specific tank and livestock.

I am using it on my JBJ NC28, and everything in the tank from fish to corals seem happier now with the increased flow and random wave profile created by Reef Crest Mode.

Only drawback is price, but as with anything else, you get what you pay for. If you want the best, you won't regret this purchase.

- Product Review by Dave Defilippis
(Posted on 3/25/11)

Comments: Product was shipped quickly and packaged in a large box. The product box was slightly mangled, but nothing inside was damaged. The MP10ES is pretty much plug-n-play unless you want to fine tune or set up multiple pumps. As previously mentioned in other reviews, the quick start quide that comes with the pump is okay, but you really need to go online to EcoTech's site for the full manual to get the maximum benefit from this pump. It took me about an hour to find the setting that I wanted for my nano tank. Now set, it's awesome. When I get my 180g reef up and running, I will be looking for the MP40. The are expensive pumps, but well worth the investment.

"Astonishing"
- Product Review by John Davis
(Posted on 3/21/11)
-
Comments: Just tell yourself: "Self. Reef pumps cost $220."

When you buy a Vortech you are not just buying a pump or powerhead. You are buying a true one pump wave maker. At full speed it is a little much for my 27 gallon cube but when I set it in short pulse mode at top speed I am able to make a strong wave. When you tune this pump right the top of the water moves side to side. This resonating wave causes more detritus to be kicked up making it easier for pumps to remove. So again. Just tell yourself reef pumps cost $220 and just buy it. It is not something you will regret later.

Comments: Have had this product for about a week now. My fish love it, my anemone loves it, My SPS corals are extending there polyps. Everything looks happy and I am quiet satisfied with the result of the water flow. It doesn't feel like much flow is going on in the tank but when you see debris coming out from underneath your live rock, that you had no clue was under there it is worth it. If I had the money I would buy another one.

"40 Breeder loves it!"
- Product Review by Scott Drago
(Posted on 2/23/11)
-
Comments: Was a little worried at first about spending this amount of money on a powerhead. The ES driver is a breeze to figure out. Some functions are not outlined in the quick start guide that come with the pump. To see the full manual with all the functions you need to visit their website. I have it running about 3/4 trottle, custom pulse, and it makes a 1/2" wave in my SCAPED 40 gallon breeder. Full power will almost send the wave out the tank. Fish and corals love it, and so do I.

The only small issue I have with the pump is the slight noise it has in the custom pulse mode. My tank is close to silent so the spool up from the mp10 in custom pulse is heard. Not loud, but audible, the preset functions are silent.

Comments: I got this pump as a replacement for my old mp10. I absolutely love the new driver and it is very fun to use. The amount of flow it emits is far better than my old pump. I love the new sleep mode, and shutting the pump off is much easier with the on/off button. My corals seem very happy and there is much less detritus build-up, I would definitely recommend this pump for anyone with a dominant SPS nano system.

"Perfect!"
- Product Review by Tracy Berutti
(Posted on 9/23/10)
-
Comments: While tearing down my 100gal tank to move it, I was horrified by the amount of detritus in my rock and sand. No wonder I had so many bristle worms! I bought the MP10 to improve my flow from 20 to 30 Xs/hr. Now I have 2 Koralias in the corners and the MP10 in the middle back of my tank using reef crest mode. It creates excellent surge-like flow throughout the tank. At full strength, the sand was relocating and the frog spawn in the corner shriveling so I was able to dial it back one notch which was perfect. Now I have to empty my filter sock twice as often.

"The Best!"
- Product Review by Joao Carlos Destro
(Posted on 9/21/10)
-
Comments: This product is the best, but I took 2 months to get some wave in my nano reef of 30g, This is because when you turn the dial you see the leds changing of position*******
But inside the same led position there are different times intervals for wave, you can't see changing this speed.
In Big aquariums it isn't a problem because a wave take 1 or 2 seconds to come back, but in a "nano" you need a precision time like 1,3 or 1,7 seconds to get some wave. And this setup exists in Ecosmart driver but is hidden inside the same light position. Simply rotate very slowly the dial and don't look to the ecosmart driver, look just for the aquarium to get a perfect wave.

"Best Pump I've Ever Owned!"

Comments: The Mp10 W/ Eco Smart Driver is by far the best powerhead I've ever owned, it's very silent, the features are awsome, just all around a great addition to my reef tank. If I could change anything about the pump, the only thing I could think of would be to include the online manual with the product, because the small pamphlet that comes with the unit isn't very clear as to how to setup different features, the manual is online, but no the less, well worth the money.
I would definately recommend this product to my friends, A+++++

Comments: When I was thinking about getting this MP10 w/EcoSMART Driver I was a little weary as I didn't see many reviews with this pump in a Nano tank (12gal JBJ Nanocube). So I decided to take the matter into my own hands and give it a shot first hand and I will never look back. This pump is amazing to say the least! With all the options and configurations that you can accomplish with this pump and controller I don't know how anyone could use something other then it. Comments: have had my vortech installed for a week now and the thing works perfect, it is VERY quiet and will conform to any need you have. I will never buy a different powerhead again! A+ to VorTech on their products

"Nice pump"

Comments: While the pump itself is awesome, and the controller has nice features, it is a bit confusing to get set up. The documentation is complete crap for a product in this price range. If they only want a couple of buttons and one nob with no real display, they need to come up with a way to configure via a computer or something. However I do really like it now that I have it working.

Comments: This is an awesome pump. The new EcoSmart gives you alot more control of whats going on inside your little box of ocean. If you are new in the hobby or an old timer dont think twice about spending the money for this pump. Literally you will never need another pump again no matter if you upgrade (up to 50g) or downgrade this pump will do it all. A freckin +
