"Poor Coral Growth"
- Product Review by Carl Peterson
(Posted on 9/19/12)

Comments: After using the Radion for 7 months, I have to say I had much better response from my corals under a 175 Watt Metal Halide than with this fixture. I was all jazzed up about it, but I havent seen the results I wanted. I put back the 175 Watt MH and things are growing much better again.

Comments: The lights look fantastic, but the programming utility is pretty awful. The instructions are NOT clear, lackIng in details, he'd to use. For an expensive light system, I simply expected more.

"Great light"

Comments: Well id give it a 5 but it has no sound effects. lol For that kind of money it should have sound effects. With all the fancy gaggets it has. Well to tell the truth it is way better then expected. What an amazing lite. It does everything. Wow it puts you in charge on how the day runs out. I used to watch the fish but now i find the light effect just as amazing. Yea its a lot of money but doing it wrong or shorting your self out of this light would be a shame. The cost could be lower but you get what you pay for.

"Radion Light"
- Product Review by Steve Haley
(Posted on 7/15/12)

Comments: I would love to give these 5 stars, but The software is not Mac compatable :( also it doesn't seem to make all of the colors pop at the same time. In one setting the greens look great but my fish look terrible. In another setting the fish look great but the coral are washed out. Overall I really like them but I will most likely add some halide lights in for extra pop and better night time lights.

"Halide no more"
- Product Review by Corey Bassett

Comments: The fixture is awesome I wish I could give it 6 stars despite a couple drawbacks thats how good it is. Ecotech doesn't make a tank mount but I bought a piece of rigid couduit and a piece of aluminum from Lowes and made my own. And the software isn't Mac compatable yet. Natural mode is amazing the sun comes up in the morning and fades to blues in the evening. Anyone that buys this fixture wont' ever go back to Halide.

"Awesome Lights, So So Software"
- Product Review by Christopher Covington
(Posted on 5/2/12)

Comments: The light modules, simply put are breathtaking. I found the software support to be not so great. It's not entirely intuitive and finding a clear cut explanation for a few of the functions was difficult for me (for example, the 'night mode' in natural mode cuts out the LED's completely so the tank is pitch black at night. I finally found a chat/blog room that explained how to add a gentle shimmer effect for night. Awesome product Ecotech, but it seems like you pushed the product out the door for production without first polishing up the software. Hopefully future revisions will address these issues and make it a bit more user friendly.

"Radion"
- Product Review by Pablo Landeros
(Posted on 4/25/12)

Comments: I got one a few month ago but never set it up because I thought I needed two for my 120g tank. However, a few days ago I set it up and even though I can probably use one more, the one I have does a great job covering the majority of the tank (48x24x24). It was really easy to install and program. My water temp has gone down now that I got rid of my T5 and the fish seem fine. The colors are superb. The fan was a little loud when the day light was on yesterday but since the tank is located in my office, it didn't really bother me. I really want to get one more but to tell you the truth, it looks great with just the one.

Comments: I just received my Radion and out of the box, im speechless. It is a little smaller than what i imagined but the light output is absolutely impressive. I can not wait to go home (at work currently) and hook this baby up. And as always, GREAT JOB for the fast delivery. Your customer service is the reason i would not shop anywhere else. I will do a follow up comment once the unit is installed.

"Best LED fixture on the market"
- Product Review by Chris Hayes
(Posted on 4/11/12)
-
Comments: Don't waste your time with other LEDs or light fixtures. If you want the best, buy these. I have been in the hobby for over 35 years. Through those years, I have owned every lighting type (MH, T5, LED, PC and VHO) on the market, and non of them compete with this fixture. Save your money and get these...anything else will be a waste. Great coral growth, PAR readings and deep penetration with little to no heat. Great work Ecotech Marine!

Comments: I've had this up and running for about 3 months and this blows away any T5 or LED fixture I've ever owned.

The control is amazing and the different modes are fun to play with.

I'm seeing unprecedented growth at just 60% light.

There are customized spectrum and intensity programs available through Vortech and independent users which create a never ending array of possibilities.

I'll never go back to my old systems.

"Very impressed!"
- Product Review by Fabrice Corbatto
(Posted on 1/20/12)

Comments: I owned one of the first LED light systems to be commecialized in the past, and I had to convert my tank back to a "regular" MH system because I couldn't get enough light output from the older LED system. This is SO MUCH MORE SUPERIOR to any of the past LED lighting systems available in the past... Just as powerful as my 250W MH, better coverage, and so much more flexibility with PC programmability, etc... A superior LED lighting system! Very satisfied so far...

"After Using the Light . . ."
- Product Review by Julie Salim
(Posted on 1/13/12)

Comments: After having the light set up and my husband's initial comments, I can add the following which I feel people must know:

1) The software is definitely a little buggy but we have been able to program the lights any way we want.

2) The lights did take an initial update right when we set them up, but we have had no issues with them syncing with eachother (i.e. plug one in the USB and they all sync up). I think you have to be a little bit, and I mean a little computer savy, but no biggie at all.

4) The color pallete is seemingly endless. Mixing the red with the royal blue at 45% red and 100% royal blue at 25% intensity is just crazy. Obvioulsy, we are a bit careful so ensure we don't promote algae, but the color generation and control is in a class of its own.

In summary, the cost is the only thing that prevents this fixture from a perfect score. I have already found some lighting program sharing forums popping up at different sites and we are really happy with the purchase. It is definitely a big investment, but we are really happy with it. No more chiller too!

"My experience with the light"
- Product Review by Pierre Gaudreau
(Posted on 1/2/12)

Comments: Love the size, love the light output, hate the programming. I have had the lights for three weeks. I have four of them on my 265 gallon reef tank, and to this day trying to get them to work in sync, not lock up, lose their programming I am finding myself reprogramming these lights every day. Ecotech has been very helpful but unfortunately my problem remains the same and these fixtures for the price provide no reliability in my view. I believe they will get their programming issues resolved, but unfortunately I find myself having spend a lot of momey for 4 light fixtures and find no pleasure in the use of them yet due to their lack of reliability

"Initial Assessment"

Comments: While its a bit too early to give a full review, I am highly impressed with most facets of this product. Color rendering is flat out amazing. I stayed away from the LED movement prior to these lights due to the lack of tone to the spectrum offered by most high end companies. These lights truly have it all. I find that the software is still a bit raw but more than adequate. I assume that ecotech rushed this to market just a bit to make the x-mas season. Thats not surprising. In any event, this is the first LED light that I have seen that, from a looks standpoint, is really pleasing to me (and I mean lighting, not the fixture). If you want bang for the buck and dont mind the lack of spectrum, go with AI or Orphek. If you have the money and you want the real deal, I would go with these. Its too early to tell if there are any bugs, however, I like them a heck of a lot more than any other LED I've seen.

I run 5 over a 180 gallon long. Its a bit overkill but I wanted to make sure.

Comments: ive had a 150w halide for several years on a 30gal cube..a new bulb and fan replacement made me think about this fixture. SOLD! I have a mixed reef everything besides sps. everything in my tank has reacted suprisingly great. lsp love the light as well as my polyps and soft corals. I'm only using 40% of the led fixture's brightness and it seems as if this led fixture has already out performed my halide. The software is great, simply and easy to use. cant wait for some updates. Even though this fixture has a fan its practically silent. its only been a week so i cant say anything about growth. Bought the battery back up and soon buying the ecotech wavemaker to go along with the thunderstorm mode thats linkable to the software. Hands down i dont think anyone would be disappointed in this led fixture.

"Looking good!"

Comments: I have two light fixtures over my 90 gallon and love them! Coming from a really awesome fixture as the ATI Powermodule, I was skeptical on how I would like the LEDs, but know that I have made the plunge, I am happy I switched! First of all, the shimmer is beyond anything I could have imagined. I have never had shimmer before coming from T5s and now I know what I have been missing!

Secondly, the different color combinations are endless! They have pre-set color values that should appeal to everybody, but if not you can customize your own! As mentioned in the other reviews, the software is easy to use and only at the beginning of what features the software will allow you to do.

For acclimation, coming from a powerful light as the Powermodule, I have the highest point of the day at 50% intensity and have seen no ill effects. I will slowly ramp up the intensity until I reach 100%.

The only minus (negative) is the fact that you will need to be creative and DIY some brackets to connect more than one Radion together and the hanging kit is at an extra cost. This is the reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Ecotech customer service is top notch and is willing to help in any way they can to get you up an running.

"So Far, So Good"
- Product Review by Angelo Sanchez
(Posted on 11/7/11)

Comments: Although I bought this on the day of release, I have been very pleased with the unit so far. The amount of adjustability is incredible, and watching sunrise/sunset sequences in your tank makes it worth every penny! The build quality and packaging are as you would expect from EcoTech, excellent! Software is still in its early stages, but completely functional and each revision is getting better. The light is very compact, light weight, and dead quiet, and the light output is phenomenal for the power consumption and heat output.

After an initial bleaching of SPS caused by the strong then expected output (make sure you bump this thing WAY down in intensity for acclimation) my corals are now looking happier then ever. My polyp extension and color are both phenomenal.

It's a bit more money then some LED competition, but the RGB and adjustability makes it worth every penny of the difference.

Comments: I have one unit over an 30"x12"x23" 37 Gallon mixed reef. The coverage/color is amazing. I think the 30" length is the max coverage these led's can handle but I'm took the gamble (I even have them handing 4" above the surface). Compared to the maxspect's I had, these are a huge step up. Love the ability to slow down my MP10wes with the touch buttons for feed mode. The hanging kit looks sleek and the software is easy to use. These led's really make my sps/lps "pop" and the spotlight/color banding effect is very minimal. I like the modularity/upgradeability so when I upgrade to a 90 gallon I may only need to buy one more. The only change I'd like to see would be some kind of backlights behind the control buttons on the module as they are really hard to see. Check these out when you get to choosing a lighting option, I'm just happy I found led's that work for me as its a headache to try and narrow down all the possibilities.

Comments: after experimenting with LED lighting, having had two other LED fixtures, I can finally say that it seems that someone has got it right! The software is great and lighting is extremely bright. Solidly made with a great minimalist high-tech look that i wanted above my reef. They will be adding more functionality to the software, but the ease of programming the light through USB is fantastic and fast already. And the way it communicates with my vortech pump is really great especially during feed mode when with a push of a button the light and pump are both in feed mode. The software will be getting updates with even more functionality so i can't wait to see what they do. A great company and a great fixture. Only wish is a tank mount option.
