Eheim Install Set 1, 0.65 inch (Suction) Information

Part #: 4005300

With Eheim Install Sets 1 and 2, all external filter makes with hose diameters of 0.50"/0.65" can be perfectly optimised in the suction or pressure area. Firm connection with variable installation and selective function is ensured by the plug-in connections.

Eheim Installation Set 1 improves the suction effect through its piping that creates a current-like flow and the compact overflow arc that is fitted with a practical quick release coupling. At the same time, the set can be used as a suction aid for external filters that have a shut-off device in the suction area. Otherwise an additional shut-off valve is installed there. In addition, the opening with a closing cap in the overflow arc can be used to clean pipes and hoses conveniently.

In the flow area Installation Set 2 ensures optimum pressure conditions with variable installation options. The water outlet can be adapted to the aquarium dimensions by means of the plug-in nozzle tubes, the hoses can be connected safely thanks to the quick release coupling, and the set can be easily cleaned via the closing cap on the overflow arc. A separate nozzle set including an elbow and three different attachments as a wide jet, outlet or adapter for connecting a diffusor is also available as an accessory.

Eheim Installation Set 1 (Suction Side)

  • Suitable for all aquarium heights and external filters
  • Simple and safe tube connections with the new quick-release coupling

Eheim Set I and 2 Product Review by ELLIOTT JANOFSKY (Posted on 2/26/14)

Comments: They are well designed and easy to install. However I didn't know when I ordered them that they come in 2 sizes. I think I should have been asked what sizes I needed. As it turned out I needed the .5 diameter ones. I needed to heat the end of the hose to stretch it over the .65 one. The .5 went together and installed in 15 minutes. It took over an hour to install the .65 one. Also the instructions were not clear on removing the input and output hoses. I managed to figure it out to avoid a floor full of water. They work well and the dark color makes them less noticeable By placing the Set two on the surface and facing it towards the side glass, the turbulence is decreased. I highly recommend them as replacements, but order the correct sizes.

eheim input and output Product Review by BILL WESTERMANN (Posted on 2/8/08)

Comments: I have a classic and I exchanged the ugly fluorescent green tubes with this new Gray Suction and return set. Should have come with the Classic from the getgo, not the stupid ugly green. What is Eheim thinking? Who wants that in their tank? fits both hoses exactly and both have the nice screwdown tighteners to hold the tube not just pushed on. and the exhaust has nice 90 degreee bends, not the cheesey tube-in-a-tube that barely makes it into the tank. I love the new tubes and now YOU CAN BARELY SEE THEM IN THE TANK EHEIM! lose the green.

Install Set 1 Product Review by RYAN WAGNER (Posted on 11/29/09)

Comments: I spent a frustrating afternoon setting up my Eheim Pro3. In retrospect, the frustration was almost entirely related to the shoddy engineering of Install Set 1. The problem is in establishing an airtight seal (failure to establish the seal results in noisy operation and a tank full of air bubbles). The problem is restricted to the connection between the plastic connector and the green tube or between the connection between the former and the u-shaped bridge which is the entre' to the tank. I connected and reconnected numerous times with only one airtight success. Finally, I removed the Install kit and placed the hose directly in the tank: End of problem! I will continue to improvise (hooking the u-shaped connector to the hose upside down under water with the filter attached), but the bottom line is Install Set 1 is poorly engineered (Install Set 2 works fine, but it doesn't need to avoid air leaks). Other than that, the filter - based on one afternoon's experience - works as advertised, i.e., very well.
