Fiji`s Best Saltwater Aquarium Live Rock – 25 lb. Box

Fiji’s Best Saltwater Aquarium Live Rock is handpicked high-quality live rock collected from marine environments in Fiji. This marine live rock is cured once it arrives from Fiji to preserve coralline algae and other beneficial organisms present on the rock.

The average weight of each piece of rock is between 3 to 5 lbs. The rocks are carefully packaged inside a 14" x 11" x 9" box insulated with plastic to preserve the beneficial bacteria, micro and macro flora/fauna. Boxes weigh approximately 25 lbs and are shipped via 2 Day service to ensure freshness. Just select ground shipping during checkout and we`ll upgrade you to 2Day service at no additional cost.

Placing live rock inside a salt water aquarium has been one of the methodologies that has lead to widespread success within the hobby. The porous open structure of Fiji’s Best Live Rock allows the rock to host a wide array of beneficial bacteria, micro and macro flora which are crucial for biological filtration in marine fish-only and reef aquarium systems. Each box contains rocks in a variety of shapes, colors and sizes.

Most pieces feature naturally formed pores that aid in water circulation and provide natural hiding places for fish and invertebrate. Pieces range from sandy-colored to brown, green, maroon and purple depending on the amount of coralline algae, plant and sponge coverage.

The arrangement of the décor inside your aquarium—the placement of rocks, plants and corals, for example—is typically referred to as the aquascape. Aquascaping your aquarium using Fiji’s Best will allow you to create a natural base to place coral and other invertebrate. Light-loving corals can be placed on higher platforms while low-light or non-synthetic coral can be place midway down, underneath archways or inside caves. Corals that demand different levels of water flow can also be meticulously placed in this fashion.

Buy live rock from Fiji’s Best to add a greater level of biodiversity to your reef aquarium ecosystem. Sponges, plants, starfish, mollusks, worms and crustaceans are common hitchhikers that begin appearing in tanks once the rock has been established. Hitchhikers help your aquarium by filtering water, eating detritus and/or acting as a food source for other animals.

We typically recommend 1 to 2 lbs. of live rock per gallon, depending on the look you’re trying to achieve. Although our Fiji live rock is pre-cured, we recommend re-curing the rock upon arrival for best results. Pieces may rub against each other during transport so a small bit of rubble might be present inside the shipping box.

Live rock can be secured together inside your aquarium using reef glues & epoxies, cable/zip ties or plastic pipes to build stunning aquascapes that replicate coral reefs found in nature.

Comments: After the live rock arrived I rinsed everything off real well before placing in our new tank. A couple days later the water turned green. I changed the water and filters out and water is still not clear after a couple weeks. I guess I'll empty the water and pitch the rock and start over.

Comments: The Fiji Live Rock I received was in excellent condition. It had a fresh smell upon opening the box. I cleaned it and cured it for an additional four days.

After only four days, it had a fresh ocean smell and a zero ammonia level. I placed it into a newly prepared aquarium that had been running for about a week where I will let "come to life".

I am very pleased and highly recommend the Fiji Best Saltwater Aquarium Live Rock.

Comments: Rock was pretty clean when it arrived. Absolutely no hitchhikers. Most rocks the same size with a couple a little larger and about 7 smaller. Arrived damp not wet.

Excellent!

Comments: I ordered 3 boxes of rock for my new tank. Very happy with the size of the pieces and the quality of the rock. Letting it cure in a separate vat and then will start aquascaping my tank with it.

Great!

Comments: I bought about 50lbs of this rock over 7 years ago....its been pretty good. i did have to buy some Marshal rock from a LFS to ad some diversity...the Marshal rock had more coraline. When i first got the Fiji from the retailer, I was somewhat disappointed as it didnt look anything like advertised. Only a few monthes after I added the Marshal Island rock did the tank begin to take off. So, you decide.

Comments: This rock comes in a variety of sizes to help in aquascaping. Requires some cleaning but for the price it is ttally worth it. Tank looks really good now that it is all set-up and cycling.
