Comments: Very easy to use.The only bad thing is the powerhead cords plug in to the front of the unit. would be much better if they would plug in the back. Power cord in back and 4 cords in front!

"...shrugging my shoulders"
- Product Review by Jacob Hall

Comments: It is an easy product to set up. Cheaper than it's competitors. For a reason. I bought the 2-way controller with the Koralia 4's which I think were the biggest available at the time for a 120 gal SPS tank. Barely noticeable effect. I saved up and replaced them with Vortech MP-40's which are ridiculously priced, but well worth saving up for. Just put the Koralia system on a 20 gal experimental non-photosynthetic coral tank. They don't even maintain the same water movement in a 20 gal as the Vortechs do in a 120 gal.

"Hydor Koralia Wavemaker Contro"
- Product Review by Joey Xiong
(Posted on 6/22/11)

Comments: I bought the two way unit with Koralia 8's. Cords from the magnum 8s to the wavemaker is like 6' ft so it's adequate for bigger tanks. The 8's are the size of a large orange or grape fruit.

My first test in a 4'x3'x17" is that it's too powerful (wasn't meant to be for this tank). It's going into the in progress 8'x4'30" tank.

But in the 4'x3', I had to turn the maximum at only 1/4" turn from minimum and it had the sand going everywhere.

Once I've put it in and set it for 2 sec changes, the fishes (tangs/triggers/angels) where in the middle of the tank trying to ride the wave. They seem content with it.

It doesn't really produce waves -ala Vortechs, but does an okay job at making back and forth currents.

With the total of $500 I've spent, I could of pony up another 200 for the Vortech MP60, or get two MP40s -but I think this will do what I want it to do for now.

Pros: Dead silent. Can't tell they are on unless I'm looking at the debris or fishes swaying in the tank.
Okay to good cost to performance ratio - moves a lot of water.

Cons: Not really waves such as a wavemaker or Vortech MPxx series (but they are finicky and loud at times).

"Yep"

Comments: Keeping a mixed reef with Soft, SPS, LPS corals with different water flow needs can be tough. This controller allows you to create low, medium, and high flow areas in one tank system by use of multiple pumps set at different flows.

"The best, even better than 2"

Comments: I had the Wavemaker 2 before. It died after two years so I purchased the Wavemaker 4. It is an amazing unit with tons of useful functions. Pretty much just plug and play.
It is 100% programmable for those who want do so, for others, their are many built in wave programs.
The night and food features are quite nice too.
The 4 has the LCD monitor that the 2 does not. This gives you a visual representation of what's going on with your pumps at any moment. It also make programming easy!

"Great Product"

Comments: I have the Deluxe controller installed on two Magnum 8's and am very happy with this controller. It is easy to set up/program and the pumps run so quiet you have to put your ear right up to the tank to hear them (not like the Vortechs-noisey!). The controller is fairly large and has some weight to it!
The only thing I have negative to say is the cooling fan and plug is on the back so it needs to have space to allow for air flow and the straight plug. With the cords for the pumps coming out of the front the unit needs some room or mounted on a shelf flat (mounting it sideways means the display is difficult to read).

They are a little pricey and so are the larger pumps, but you pay for professional marine equipment.

"Hydor Koralia Wavemaker 2"
- Product Review by Mohshina Huda

Comments: I recently purchased the Hydor Koralia Wavemaker 2 with 2 K 4's (12V) pumps and love em. So far, all I can say is nice job Hydor! The pumps are working smoothly and you hear no noise comming from the pumps and the wavemaker. I have been playing with the unit for a few hours and find that the best setting for my tank is the alternating effect every 2 seconds with the minimum 550 GPH and maximum 1,400 GPH. Its amazing how the pumps change speed so fast causing my corals to remain upright and swaying side to side. Its as if they are breefly blasted with a soft flow every 2 seconds comming from all directions. Water is being pushed back and forth and my fishes love it. The fact that I can have total control of the flow and that there is no more rattling noise from the old pumps is enough for me to offset the price of this unit. All in all, I am very satisfied with it and highly recomend it.
