Comments: I really liked the ease of installation of this product. The hose goes right on the fitting without any leaks. As always I also love the excellent customer service and fast shipping I receive from marine depot. I will definaently be purchasing from them again.

"plastic y hose barb fitting"
- Product Review by Martin Porvaznik
(Posted on 9/15/11)

Comments: It is a great product but when I ordered it I chose 1" barb fittings. I thought that would be the internal diameter but it is not. 1" means total exterior diameter. As a result it did not fit my application because it is too small. I do not believe that anyone makes a 1.25 inch (ED)Y barb fitting in plastic. You can get a T - fitting in a 1.25 but I have not been able to find the Y.

"Just what I needed."

Comments: I have a 90 gallon Oceanic Tech Tank that has 2 drains and 2 returns and this "Insert Y Fitting" is perfect for splitting the return pump into 2. The fitting also minimizes back pressure due to it's "Y" design. Worked great. Marine Depot is one of the few online vendors to carry this item, and at a great price too. Thanks for the fast shipping.

"Y Fitting"
- Product Review by Edward Toll

Comments: I accidently found this fitting in the catalog. I have not been able to find this shape fitting ANY WHERE else. I am using it on a waterfall and due to its shape, it offers less resistance than a "T" fitting!

"Nice"

Comments: Does what its supose to.Great if your runing a phosban/carbon reactor.you can just insert the "Y" into your return line ,run a line from the "Y" to your reactor with a valve to slow the flow. Now one less pump in your sump/DT to create heat and take up space..

Comments: I noticed an increase of flow from my sump return after switching from using a regular tee fitting. Less head loss.

"Hard to find part"
- Product Review by Clint Corbin
(Posted on 2/1/08)

Comments: Finding any Y fitting at one of the local plumbing or home stores is pretty hard. Finding one that is actually heavy duty enough that I'll trust in my aquarium is pretty much impossible.

I wanted the 1" inlet with twin 3/4" outlets to maximize the flow of my AmpMaster 3600 pump. These things aren't known for their head pressure! This fitting worked great and I currently have enough flow to just about max out the overflows in the tank.

About the only thing I would like to see as an improvement is a shallow angle V between the 3/4" outlets. There is not a whole lot of space in the overflows and having a fairly wide spacing makes for some interesting configurations.
