"Wonderful Time Proven Cleaner"
- Product Review by Peter Suslock
(Posted on 4/24/12)
-
Comments: Mag Float - the original and still the best. This terrific tool makes cleaning algae and sludge from the inside aquarium walls a breeze.

It's perfect for a quick touch up when you don't have the time or interest in a full tank break down clean up. Your glass is left sparkling clean, the fish aren't disturbed or stressed and the water stays inside the tank.

I've used these for years and have them in every size but giant. It's a real plus to be able to clean off the glass without the potential hazard of chemicals or again, spending a great deal of time.

This two piece system depends on magnets of course - and make no mistake even on the small size they're incredibly strong. Get your finger tip caught between them just once and owch!

The side with the rough Velcro material goes inside the tank and the side with the soft felt like padding on the outside, they snap together instantly and your set to go.

Use up and down and back forth motions as you glide it across the glass. If you see "lawn mower marks" they disappear completely with circular motions.

As small as the medium size is it takes a bit of elbow grease to keep them moving, the magnets are that powerful. But the results are perfect.

This said this is an absolute essential for any hobbyist at most any level.

the medium size is far too small for a 125 gallon tank. It's perfect for a 55 gallon and even up to a 75 but I would suggest the Large size for tanks beyond that.

the surface the medium size is to small for aquariums above these sizes.

So go for the Large size, you won't regret it.

They clean up easily enough with just a quick rinse and when you store your Mag Float I think it's a good idea to separate the pieces, leaving them connected eventually drains the magnets.

A brilliant product that does an equally brilliant job.

Comments: Just arrived today, shipped very quickly! I popped it into the tank and it is amazing! It cleaned the front of my glass in about 5 minutes as I haven't cleaned it for a while so there was some build up. It worked best for me going in small circles, but the glass is SO CLEAN! I love it! I got the 30 gallon one and am very happy! (tank is 29). It will not fit the scraper attachment on it so I bought that separate with extension.

"Mag-Float 30"
- Product Review by Michael Kochanski
(Posted on 12/23/11)

Comments: This is the second scrubber I have purchased. The first was one size smaller than this and did a good job for about four years until the scrubbers and pads wore out and the magnet just would not hold as well as it used to. I upgraded to this bigger size and man am I glad I did. This thing has much better magnitism and is twice the size so cleaning is a breeze.

Comments: I purchased this as a replacement and am very happy with it. It does a great job of keeping the glass clean without having to remove my lighting fixtures.
The tough purple coraline algae will still need to be scraped with a blade, as the magnet isn't meant for that.

"Mag-Float Cleaner"
- Product Review by Alex Schmidt
(Posted on 8/4/10)
-
Comments: I'm very pleased with this product. I've had the smaller Mag-Float 30 for a few years now with no issues. I decided to get the Mag-Float 350 to use with the Easy Blade scrapper and all I can say is that the Easy Blade is a must have to use with the Mag-Float. Don't get me wrong, the Mag-Float works well on the light stuff but can't get the real caked-on algae. The scrapper in my opinion is so easy to clean the tank and I don't have to get my arm wet or stand on a milk crate to reach the bottom.

"Mag-Float Magnet Cleaner (Glas"
- Product Review by James Cardinale

Comments: This is a great product. It should already come with the attachable scraper for glass already attached or included as an attachable. The inside pad does wear out after a few YEARS. I haven't been able to find decent replacement pad except wide Velcro I recommend this highly and use it daily for any slight build up so the tank doesn't get hard to clean.

"Great Algae Remover"
- Product Review by Ron Garnett
(Posted on 1/10/10)

Comments: The Mag-Float is excellent. The magnetic force is strong enough to adhere the cleaner to the aquarium glass while doing a great job of removing the algae with very little effort. The new floating feature allows me to turn the corners of my tank while the cleaner disconnects and reconnects again without having to put my hands in the water. Nice feature.

"Good Cleaner"
- Product Review by Steven Klimavicius
(Posted on 1/9/10)
-
Comments: I purchased the Mag-Float because the previous glass cleaner I had didn't float and would just drop to the bottom of the tank if the magnet outside the glass got to far away. The Mag-Float is great and so much easier to use. Plus, it cleans the algae off the glass really well. My only complaint is that it doesn't get the corner of the glass that well but neither did my last one.

Comments: Do not buy, I have a 28g nano cube and after going over the same spot more than 10 times it barely makes a dent in my algae. Tried it for over a month and gave up, threw it away. Does not rub smoothly, it jerks and skips like its jumping on the glass vibrating all my invertebrates nearby.

Comments: These magnets do a great job. I have 3/4" glass and there is no worry about losing a connection. Strong attraction makes them a little hard to move around but the good news is they clean phenominally well because of this. Highly recommend this for any glass over 3/4" in thickness.

"Strong Magnet"
- Product Review by Sean Pavlich
(Posted on 4/20/09)
-
Comments: Generally I like this magnet. It does exactly what it says it does. The reason for the different sizes and magnets, is because of the strength of the magnets. I was using a 350 model, and thought it was a little weak, even though it says good for up to 300 gallons. The 500 model is almost too strong, but does a nice job, just requires a lot more effort to move it. Too bad they don't make one somewhere in between the two.

Comments: I have a tank with 12mm acrylic and it does not remove as I was expecting; in nice an easy to clean when you do it every day, but after vacations was impossible to remove all the algae.

Comments: Good little magnet for really small aquariums but not too good for marine tanks. It's just not strong enough

"Mag Float 350"
- Product Review by Ngoc Nguyen

Comments: I love my new Mag float 350 (glass). I have a 1/2 thick glass aquarium. I had a smaller Mag float before and it did not have enough magnetism, it was too weak to clean all the algea. But this large one really does the job! However the only gripe I have is that: the company that makes Mag floats does not offer more colors such as gray and black. I emailed them but they never replied back. It would be wonderful to have it in black so that it is not conspicuous, less visible, in my tank.
