"A Beautiful Tank For The Money"
- Product Review by James Marino
(Posted on 8/24/12)
-
Comments: After using Aqueon aquariums for the past few years, I decided to replace a few of my smaller ones with a Mr. Aqua 12 long.
<br />
<br />I am very impressed with the overall quality of this aquarium and its beautiful aesthetic.
<br />
<br />So much so that I just ordered another Mr. Aqua aquarium
<br />(a 13.3 bowfront).
<br />
<br />For those looking for lighting systems you will also find that a Hagen GLO T-5 36" fixture will fit the Mr. Aqua 12 long perfectly. And the Hagen GLO T-5 24" will fit the 13.3 bowfront perfectly.
<br />
<br />The GLO lighting systems also look very nice sitting atop the Mr. Aqua aquariums. As for quality, from what I have read, the Mr. Aqua tanks are every bit as nice as the Aqua Design Amano aquariums, but at a fraction of the cost.
<br />
<br />Highly recommended!

Comments: i got this tank after my Mr Aqua 7.5 gallon bow front started to leak at the seam. i was amazed on how well it was packed and the tank is just very appealing. the glass is thick and the silicon work is a little sloppy on the outside but nothing that a razor blade cant fix. the tank is kinda narrow so its a little hard to work with the rock work but once you get it just right it will look very nice. overall im very satisfied with the tank. i had to wait for a month for this last shipment to come in and it was deff worth it

Comments: bought a 17.4g mr. Aqua frameless tank and I was amazed.
<br />Although it's made from Taiwan but what a great job they did. The silicon was perfect and all level and clear.
<br />I really like it and am very happy with my purchase.
<br />You can't really see the silicon between the glasses.
<br />
<br />I would recommend this to everyone especially the price, you just can't beat that.

-
Comments: I really like the dimensions of this tank.
<br />The silicone on the outside of the tank required a little bit of trimming.Other than that, I am pleased with the tank.
<br />I was under the impression that the glass was supposed to be low iron, which it clearly is not. The glass edges have a green tint to it, not a big deal for general viewing, but makes a big difference with photography.

Comments: product seems to be as they state, imo nice clear glass, great look,only reason I gave it a 3 star is because of the build, silicone looks good except for one edge and one of the side panes of glass is not lined up very well.bothers me. bad quality control or something!. overall if no obvious problems i would rate this product a 5 star for sure! nice looking tank!

"Great tank for the price."
- Product Review by Richard Leishman
(Posted on 2/26/12)

Comments: packaging was first class. The tank is well built with nice clean seams. The only excess silicone was on the bottom of the tank and came off in seconds with a clean razor. The glass is ~4mm and nerve racking to drill, but we got it done. Great tank for a fair price.

Comments: This is a very nice tank for the price. The silicone is nice and it's very cleanly put together. I was surprised it was so nice because of it's low price. I was also slightly nervous about shipping a tank like this but the retailer did an excellent job packing the tank. It arrived in an oversize box that was packed with shipping peanuts. Very fast shipping and handling too. I love the look of the 12Gallon long tank. I've wanted a long narrow tank like this to do a high tech tank for a long time. Glad Mr. Aqua came along. I would absolutely recommend this tank and based on the quality, I am already considering buying one of their larger tanks.

"Great Tank!"
- Product Review by Andrew Adkins
(Posted on 2/14/12)

Comments: It alone is a great tank but, compare its cost to an ADA tank. That makes it a pretty amazing deal! It's not 100% perfection...buts its pretty darn close. Beveled edges and minimal silicon. The thing I believe most people would be displeased with is the panes are not lined up EXACTLY. They are extreme close and still look really good!

Comments: Tank arrived in perfect condition, well packed and excellent quality all around. Set up as a planted tank on the top of my roll top desk (hope it doesn't leak but worth the risk). Fish and plants seem to love the Marineland 36"-48" Dbl Bright- perfect for this tank. I cut a 1/4" piece of plexiglass for a lid. 2 HOBs and a 3-D background. Love it. Wish I could place a picture here.

"Great Tank!"
- Product Review by Ryan Parmeter
(Posted on 1/16/12)

Comments: For the price, this tank can't be beat! I purchased the 17G tank, and it came well packaged without damage. The description mentioned that the glass width varied from 5mm-8mm depending on the size of the tank. The 17G seems to be close to 5mm, as I purchased a hang-on thermometer for 8mm glass (to be safe) but it's quite loose. The construction quality is 8/10 as some of the edges are just slightly un-aligned, but I'm happy with it. I will definitely choose Mr. Aqua tanks for future projects!

"5.2g curved tank"
- Product Review by Julie Weis
(Posted on 10/12/11)

Comments: I love these tanks. I bought three and I am using them as show shrimp tanks. The curved glass on the front of the tanks is very unique and the bevel makes them look great.My only criticism is that they are hidden on the website. They are more cube-ish than rectangle, and the front is a bowfront. In any case, I am glad I found them.

- Product Review by Shawn Mcbride
(Posted on 9/19/11)

Comments: I purchased the Mr. Aqua to transplant and existing freshwater low tech scape into from a rimmed 10 gallon. I love the rimless look and the dimensions are better for scaping a tank.
<br />
<br />The tank arrived well packaged and undamaged. The glass is clear and the seams are well done. The silicone is not too sloppy nor over done. It doesn't compare to the high clarity of an ADA rimless nor are the seems quite as clean. However, it competes on its price point, which is tough to beat by anyone. It is a great value and I would purchase another tank like it again. I am very happy with it.

"12 Gallon Long Reef"
- Product Review by Gr Moore
(Posted on 7/21/11)
-
Comments: I ordered this on a Friday and it was delivered the following Monday - kudos to website for their usualy prompt shipping. Tank packaging was superb - a huge box, a ton of packing peanuts and WAY more than enough bubble wrap. Seams are near perfect, and the glass is very well aligned. Absolutely no chips or scratches. There is a slight green tint to the glass when empty. Hopefully, Mr Aqua will offer a low-iron version in the future.I've added a custom corner overflow by Midwest Reefs which feeds a AquaEuro 1/13HP chiller with an inline JBJ NanoZapp UV Sterilizer outputing through an Eheim spraybar, and an Aquaclear 110 housing a Finnex 50W heater and AquaticLife 115 Skimmer, and have a Vortech MP10 running in reef crest mode on the other end for flow. I picked up a set of 6mm Finnex lid brackets (you have to ask for 6mm specifically) and covered the tank with a custom clear acrylic top from Pop Displays. They also supplied me with a black acrylic background cut to size that I placed on the back of the tank to hide the equipment, plumbing and wires. Lighting is a 36" Coralife Aqualight dual T5 lamp. This is a beautiful tank of exceptional quality and I highly recommend it.

"Mr. Aqua"
- Product Review by David Young
(Posted on 3/29/11)
-
Comments: I have a 33.6 Gl. model and a 25 Gl. cube both are decent tanks the 25 had some minor glass alignment problems but not bad enough to return it. There was also a little silicone that was squeezed out and not removed, but it was very easy to do and personally I do not mind this for the price. I drilled both tanks with no problems both have good glass thickness IMHO. The only thing that I see bad enough to knock a star off is they say clarity glass but I do not believe the clarity is any better than other stock model aquariums. With all I said I believe that the tanks are a decent deal.

<br />Blue green glass ends are great really makes the tank. the base glass looks to be 3/8 glass

"Extremely Pleased! 12 long"
- Product Review by Sherry Mickelson
(Posted on 12/31/10)

Comments: After reading reviews with possible seam misalignment-when the product went on sale I bought it. (I downsized from 11 aquariums-75 on down after years of fish rescue + decided to treat myself.)Back ordered for some time, then I worried if it would arrive unbroken!!! But now that it is unpacked + examined, it was well worth the wait!The seams-flawless,+due to a huge box, filled with expanding foam* then a fitted top/bottom cardboard for the actual tank-it arrived in mint condition. *having 40 years experience with sculpture, chemistry of materials+biochemistry, I would highly suggest that one wears gloves and a mask while unpacking this foam. (This packing material is full of fine particles when breaking it down (probably a two part epoxy resin of some sort) and can cause major health problems if breathed into one's lungs (+so fine that it floats in the air)...as well make sure no cat/dog/children get it on them and later ingest... I have my long wood already soaked+waiting (with embedded rock), another shorter branchy piece which I will afix above...and a huge rock which will be above + in the back to create a "falls" affect... scatter river rocks over small bed of sand/gravel - ie river edge is the theme... Java moss on rocks, narrow leaf java ferns on the wood to flow along with the filter currents.Small school of appropriate fish - leaning to black neon tetra. (I have 50 plus years of fish breeding/keeping + not sure about the open top... even so called non jumpers jump...may do an invisible inner fit of glass or plastic mesh??) We shall see. BTW for those new to nano, remember it is really just a small aquarium and the smaller the size the harder it is to keep the aquarium water chemistry healthy + needs more experience to do so. (and far fewer fish)... While longer looking this is in fact a 12 gallon.Again, I am extremely pleased with the customer service, packing-fast shipping (even during NYC snow storm) and the aquarium is a beauty!

"Great looking tank! (48 gal)"
- Product Review by Jeremy Johnson
(Posted on 10/28/10)

Comments: Frankly, after reading other reviews mentioning occasionally off-square seams and less than perfect silicone work, I was a little nervous about purchasing this aquarium. Ultimately, I just rolled the dice and bought it. I have to say that I'm really glad I did. The tank I received is really nice. Silicone work is overall excellent (well there's a little silicone residue on the rim that I need to wipe off, but that's no big deal) and the edges are almost perfectly aligned (One side is recessed maybe 1/2 a millimeter, but that's close enough to perfect).

"Decent for price, with a catch"
- Product Review by Paul Van Hout
(Posted on 9/1/10)
-
Comments: These tanks are a good value if you get a good one. They are however hit-or-miss on the quality. Silicone work can either be very well done, or gobbed up and all over the place. The panes of glass can also vary, from perfectly aligned, to looking like a intoxicated 5 year old glued them together. I wouldn't buy another one sight unseen, but if you can find someone selling a decent one(with pictures of the actual tank), they are good for the price. You could however, save yourself the hassle, and buy an ADA, or Do!Aqua tank, and get higher glass clarity, and perfect silicone/alignment for only a smidgen more money. Even Finnex, and Fluval tanks have markedly better quality control.

"17.4 G Mr. Aqua"
- Product Review by Mike Kunkel
(Posted on 5/10/10)
-
Comments: My tank arrived in one piece, which was my main concern! The folks at this store had completely encased it in foam and placed 'Fragile - Handle With Care' stickers all over it. Kudo's on that!The tank itself is nice. Like others, I noticed that a little more care could have been taken to shore up the corner seams to make them perfectly square. Also, there was some silicon sealant which needed to be cleaned off in certain areas. It's now going through water-proof testing and so far everything looks good.All in all a nice looking tank. A little pricey with the added shipping charges, but still less than a comparably sized ADA tank.

"Mr.Aqua 33Gal"
- Product Review by William Molenaar
(Posted on 2/21/10)

Comments: Just purchased the 33 gallon model tank. I was looking for something that was only 24" long but was still deeper than 12" for aquascaping purposes. All the standard tanks in the local fish shops were only 12" wide and to get the width I needed meant the tank would have to be 36" long. I was just about to give up thinking I would have to order a customer made tank when I ran across this tank that was the perfect dimensions for what I was needing (25"x18"x18"). And it was rimless too !! The construction appears to be very good, the edges are all ground well with a nice bevel, all the sides(joints)line up perfectly, and the silicone work is very neatly done. The thickness of the glass is 5/16" so that puts it at ~8mm thickness. The only complaint I have is the glass isn't the low-iron kind and you can see in the edges a slight green tint (this is why I knocked off one star). But I think this tank will suit me just fine as was a lot cheaper than an ADA tank. This was my first purchase through this site and it was a very smooth painless process. Overall I am very pleased with my Mr.Aqua tank.
