Needle Valve For CO2 Regulator Information

Carbon dioxide, or CO2, is important to nourishing the health of aquatic creatures because it serves as the primary source of carbon. In the sea, nature keeps the balance of carbon dioxide in place, but in your aquarium, you have to be the one to initiate and maintain that balance. So how exactly do you do that? Use a CO2 regulator, of course. A CO2 regulator comes with indicators that tell the current CO2 level of water. With this tool, you can track the CO2 levels of the water in your aquarium and ensure a healthy carbon dioxide content all the time. For a CO2 regulator to work properly, you'll need a Needle Valve for CO2 regulator, which is used best in aquariums and fish tanks.

The Needle Valve for CO2 Regulator from Pet Store controls the flow of CO2 by producing a maximum of 10 bubbles of pure CO2 a minute, providing your aquarium with the necessary supply of CO2. This needle valve is very precise at an industrial grade level. However, it can break easily when not hooked to the correct regulator, so you'll have to find for the perfect fit before settling on a particular needle valve. Fortunately, needle valves are very affordable, so you won't have a hard time finding the perfect fit.

This Needle Valve is most suitable for Aquarium use. It can provide down to 10 bubbles of CO2 / minute consistently (at 0 pressure). Fits most CO2 Regulator Kits on the market. Inlet - Male Threaded NPT 1/8" (measures 1/4" OD physically) / Outlet - Hose Barb 1/8" (or 4/6 mm ID/OD tubing). This is the valve supplied with our Econo CO2 regulators.

NOTE: CO2 gas is extremely compressible, and therefore expandable, relative to other gases. CO2 gas is typically stored under very high pressure. A needle or metering valve is not designed to drop the pressure from your CO2 regulator down to a working pressure. This is the job of the CO2 regulator itself. The needle valve`s sole purpose is to regulate CO2 flow precisely. Equipping your existing CO2 regulator with a needle or metering valve may not provide you with adequate fine-adjustment for a calcium reactor. These valves are fragile and be easily damaged if not hooked up to the proper regulator. Our Deluxe CO2 Systems already include a Precision Needle Valve which enable as low 6 bubbles / minute (NOT second).

Great Replacement!! Product Review by BUTCH SIMONEAU (Posted on 5/1/09)

Comments: Seemed a bit too sensitive at first, but once I had it locked at the proper adjustment, the volume hasn't deviated at all. Compared to the factory needle on my regulator, this unit is a treasure!!

Not Bad Product Review by MATT M (Posted on 2/24/09)

Comments: Works as describe with minimal effort to install. I did find the packaging a little substandard but the needle valve is very precise.

wonderful device Product Review by FREDERICK BODO (Posted on 11/29/07)

Comments: Works wonderfully, I highly recommend it. Great price too.

Needle Valve Product Review by GEZA JABLONKAY (Posted on 10/9/08)

Comments: The valve takes a little fine adjusting. After that it maintains-so all in all it's a very good valve. This is my first needle valve so I can not compare to other valves.

Still super sensitive Product Review by JEFFERY KUFALK (Posted on 10/15/09)

Comments: I was hoping this would be VERY granular for adjustment, but in the end it's still extremely sensitive. Trying to adjust from 40 bubbles a minute to 30 is quite difficult, and anything more granular than a 10 bbl/min adjustment seems unlikely.

I'm still glad I got it as I do have more control than I previously did, but in general it wasn't exactly what I had hoped for.
