Comments: I have used this salt now for 2+ years. Have never had any problems and have never had to dose the salt to raise calcium, magnesium or alkalinity. It measure extremely close to natural seawater. I guess if you like to boost your levels above normal, then you would need to dose. I have tried other salts that I really like, but for the price you just can't beat it. Easy to mix as well.

Comments: I have used other brands of salt mix in the past,but I have stuck to this one ever since i tried it.It disolves very well and makes coraline grow everywhere!

(!)go figure that one out, in these money watching times every penny (gallon) counts!!Same great salt mix in a 200 gallon bag -mix- box.Gonna miss those buckets! dont throw them away!!!Will hold on to the ones I have , no problem!

Comments: It says it is phosphate and nitrate free. I experienced problems with ammonia and ammonium. Other parameteres were fine. Ca and alkilinity were high and salt disolves very easily in the water. I had to supplement around 100 ppm for magnesium per unit of volume which I don't complain about. Salt is nitrate free. I detected ammonia (free and total)with every water change. Investigating the issue led to the salt, and sure enough using a different brand resolved the problem. I had equivalent of 400g of this brand on hand (two shipments of 200 g)with the same problem. The ammonium (and ammonia) will turn into nitrate in the tank via biological filter, hence adding undesierable NO3 to the system. This problem might have been a data code related or batch issue, possibly from impurities on one or more chemicals that make up the salt. I am sure manufacturer will not purposly add ammonia to the product, but they need to implement a corrective action to tighten up their quality assurance procedures to prevent future occurances.

Comments: I have been using oceanpure salt for around a year and a half. It has been very consistent and of high quality. The alk/calc levels are higher than other brands I have used, and I have seen more growth from my clams and sps corals with this salt. It is reasonably priced as well.

Comments: I've been using the Ocean Pure Sea Salt for several years now. The 200 gallon mix case saves me a lot of money from purchasing from LFS. I mix it as I need it and typically do a 25 gallon water swap each week. I've never encountered any problems with mixing and then directly adding it to my tank.
