Comments: I'm comparing this to Reeflo, and Little Giant that I own. I've had the 150PS Pump for two years now, it powers my skimmer, and three reactors (Carbon, GFO, and Sulfur). It's the loudest pump I own, and recently replaced it with a Reeflo - wow, don't miss this pump at all.

"PW 250PS"
- Product Review by Kenneth Bland
(Posted on 6/28/12)
-
Comments: I needed to up the GPH for my 300gal saltwater system. I have all the pumping in my garage which is downstairs at the opposite end of the house. The 250PS is delivering plenty of output pressure to four outlets with a 16ft rise. In my opinion the pump is very quiet for the size and volume it puts out. That said I would probably not put it in the same room as the display tank unless it was well insulated.

This is my second PW pump. I'm using the first one to replace a Little Giant that is dying on my freshwater pond. Both were put into service 3yrs ago and the PW still seems fresh with plenty of life. The Pan World pumps smoke the Little Giants hands down.

"Quieter than expected"
- Product Review by Chris Gouge
(Posted on 2/27/12)
-
Comments: After reading some online forums talking about how to mod this pump to replace the fan, I was expecting it to be extremely loud - but really it isn't. I wouldn't want it in my bedroom, but it sits in a basement laundry room (mounted on a rubber pad with short segments of flexPVC) pumping from the sump to an upstairs tank and the noise level is fine.

It is pumping through 1" PVC up one story and over about 30 feet with several sweep elbows (approx 17ft head) and is giving about 350GPM - exactly where it should based on the curves. So far, it has been a solid performer.

Comments: The recent purchas I made of the pan world pump so far has not been good. The pump makes a large amount of air into the tank I have tried every thing to no avail to elimanate the air boubbles. I will be calling to return this pump and get sompthing that works much better in my system as this amount of air boubbles are unaccptible.

"pan mag 50 pump"
- Product Review by David Policy
(Posted on 9/10/11)
-
Comments: WOW...It is 50% quieter than my March 600gph pump. I alsoam amazed at how cool it runs...not kidding! Barely warm to the touch, if that! Now not as quiet as my titanium T-3, which after only 7 months corroded through the casing and leaked and grease was coming out the casing got in my water and killed 3 large fish. Stopped running a few days after leaking started and I called customer service and they were great and issued me a credit for my full price and I ordered my pan mag 50 and love it. It also runs a little stronger than 600 as stated. Maybe like 670 gph. Thank you for the quality customer service!!!David Vancouver, Wa.

"Noisy but powerful pump"
- Product Review by Brad Seefeld
(Posted on 7/9/11)
-
Comments: Great pump for the price. My sump is in the basement with the tank on the second floor. Pump handles the ~20 feet of lift just fine with plenty of pressure. However, it is quite noisy so I am glad its in the basement. If the pump had to go in the same room as the tank, I would probably go with something much quieter.

Comments: After three years, the pump gets louder and it has not failed yet. So, I could take it apart and rebuild or replace. As my plumbing is difficult to navigate, changing a pump is not easy. I'm going back to Iwaki, they seem to last for ever and perform very well both for noise and pump performance.

"150PS Ext. Pump"
- Product Review by Andrew Sturgeon
(Posted on 1/21/11)
-
Comments: I've had the 150PS for about 3 weeks now and the only real issue is noise level. I was expecting a lot quieter than what it is. I have it located in the basement and it pumps up a floor to my tank so its OK since it's not near us but if I listen closely I can still hear it slightly through the floor. The noise was less at first but it has increased over the short time I've had it so I'm monitoring it closely incase there is something wrong with it. Strength wise no issue. Unfortuneately I can't recommend it right now as I'm not 100% satisfied.

"PW 100PX-X"
- Product Review by Robert Rollins
(Posted on 10/10/10)
-
Comments: I bought this pump based on flow rate, head pressure and community reviews of it being quiet. So I was very disappointed in how much noise it makes. I have it plumbed from its 1" inlet/outlet into 1 1/2" then into a large canister filter with only 4 ft of head and 3.5 psi. If you can hear it in the next room and thru a wall it doesn't get a quiet rating. Other than the noise it works as advertised and appears well built - but if I was looking for a quiet pump I wouldn't buy another Pan World.

"Didn't want another Iwaki"
- Product Review by Kevin P Reardon
(Posted on 4/9/10)
-
Comments: Got this to replace an Iwaki that had failed and leaked all over. This unit wen in fairly easily, thought the output was about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch shorter than the Iwaki, so I had to do a little modification to the return plumping. it was still inline with my other parts and has been working great, though it has only been a few days I like it.

I chose this one because of the pumps I had, the Iwaki was the most expensive, newest, and failed first(3yrs). I also have a Gen-X that has run for years and had considered another one of them, but this looked to be a good value

"Great for PC water coolers!"
- Product Review by Josh Davis
(Posted on 4/7/10)
-
Comments: Pump has been running in my high end enthusiast build for 3 years with no problems. Heat dump is minimal, but the pump will run at about 70c without a airflow near it. I'm using a 80mm fan and the pump stays at a reasonable 27c to 30c depending on ambient temps. Delta is usually about 8c.

This pump can handle two or three rads with 90's and restrictive waterblocks with no problems at all. This is basically like putting a firehose in your water loop!

Pump output is every bit 480GPH which will cause clamp fittings to leak. Recommend you use high quality enzotech, bitspower, or ek compression fittings for a leak free experience. If you're on a budget then use worm fittings with a 5/16 driver to secure your parts.

"Awesome Pump"
- Product Review by Robert A Ingwall
(Posted on 4/3/10)
-
Comments: I have had the 200PS since Dec 2004 running 24x7 pumping from my basement to main floor which is around a 15 foot lift, with zero issues!! For the size of the pump, the noise is not too bad. It is not silent, which is not an issue for me as it is in a utility room. I would absolutely recommend this pump as a solid lift, solid performance pump.

Comments: I've had this pump running 24x7 on my 300g marine system for almost 4 years. The pump is well-made, runs quiet and cool, and has held up extremely well. I tear it down to clean it every 8 months or so. No problems at all and you really will appreciate the quality of the construction and the materials over the years. My next pump will definitely be Pan World.

"Nice Pump"
- Product Review by John Shaddle
(Posted on 9/3/09)

Comments: I have had a Pan World 50PX-X pump for over 1 year. It performed well, but my Nu-Clear 530 Canister filter needed to be clean to maintain a strong water flow. I recently upgraded to a Pan World 150PS and am very pleased with the additional pumping power. When I purchased my original pump I didn't realize how much difference maximum head pressure made to gallons per hour when the filter gets dirty. I would recommend looking at max head as a major factor in picking a pump. Very quiet pump when it is not mounted on a sound board. I would recommend this pump to others.

- Product Review by Kevin Woo
(Posted on 7/26/09)

Comments: It's pretty powerful and much more quiet than the Little Giant pump I replaced. The Little Giant pump I could hear from the other side of the house. With this pump, I can barely hear it when I close my cabinet. It didn't really come with any instructions and the box was somewhat lacking in details. While I'm sure I can figure it out, a little one page sheet on how to break down and clean the pump would have been nice.

"Pan World Magnetic Water Pump"
- Product Review by Jerome Cordeiro
(Posted on 7/9/09)

Comments: An exellent pump, very quiet; that is if one does not mount it on a wooden wall or run the piping through a wood wall.Wood acts like a drum. Almost no sound when isolated mounting platform. 170 gallon to a refugium which is about 10 feet below the main display tank through a Squid 1 inch pipe above the main tank, than to 2 - 3/4"(1 inch preferred) to 6- 1/2" Loc-Line nozzels. Have two valves to control the pressue also on the Loc-Lines. Also use a Lamp Remote controller by "Pime" to turn off the pump to feed. This works good because no extra wiring and if the power turns off it remains in the last state and does not stay off when the power returns. Very happy with this pump!

Comments: This pump does not promise too much. It runs very quiet and smooth. I use it as return pump to get the water from my 50 gal sump back into the tank. The sump is located in my basement and the tank is a level upstairs. Despite of the hight (over ten feet) it still provides a great water flow through four nozzels and a wave maker. Perfect for a SPS coral tank where strong currents are required.

Comments: This is the first return pump I have purchased. It is smooth quiet and started right up. Seems very well built. The only thing I would change is to add a power switch on the pump or cord. Comments: I've been running the Panworld 50PX-X for about two months now as my return pump and am pleased with this choice with one caveat. Right out of the box I thought that the fan was a bit noisy, so I did the mod that is thouroughly covered on the BIG reef forum and now the pump is really, really quiet and cool running to boot. I've had no issues with leaks, heat, or anything else for that matter. I'm very happy with this pump.

"Pan World 150 PS"
- Product Review by Jeffrey King
(Posted on 1/25/08)

Comments: I have a 20 gallon sump which gravity feeds the pump, which pushes the water through 3 Pentair 19" tall canisters (Paper Cartridge; Charcoal filter; and UV light). The system is in the basement and the tank in on the first floor. I used other pumps, but this is the most quiet pump I have had, and pushes 400 GPH through the system mentioned above as well as ten 90 degree turns and 12 feet of vertical lift (in total a 45 foot run). This system runs my 90 gallon tank quietly, and turns over enough water with great flow to keep my tank happy.

"Pan World 100PX-X Magnetic Wat"
- Product Review by Feliks Gjecka
(Posted on 1/24/08)
-
Comments: I got this pump since I read great reviews regarding noise. Noise was my main concern since I have managed to have a very quiet system with two Tunze 6100's, a JBJ chiller and H&S skimmer runned by gravity feed and Eheim pump. Well the Pan World was a totally something I did not ecpect to make such noise. It created a noise that sounded like a jet plane. The build of it is awsome though and that is why I gave it a 3 start instead of 1. I went and bought a Red Dragon 6.5 M3 pump. It cost almost 4 times as this Pan World, it pushes 1750 gph (almost twice the amount of Pan World 100PX-X), and it only uses 65 Watts, half the amount of energy of Pan World. and literally is dead quiet!!! You can't tell whether is running or not. I guess the price justifies the noise and the electric bill in the long run.

However, the pressure does'nt compare. The Pan World pumps is much stronger. Much more quiet than the Iwaki, Little Giant and other pumps in this class. I am very happy I purchased this pump.

Comments: This pump is hooked up to a Ocean Clear Canister filter on my 450 gallon fresh water African Cichlid tank. It's so quiet, I had to put my hand on it to see if it was even running!

"Quiet!"
- Product Review by Matthew Hancock

Comments: The pump is very quiet and that was important to me since my tank is in my living room. It transfers little heat to the water. I did have one issue where the impellers locked up from being turned off for 3 days and the salt built up around the ceramic washers. I just had to remove the pump and clean the ceramic washers, but that makes me question how often I will have to pull it for maintenance. Otherwise, I am happy with its quietness and output power.

Comments: I purchased this pump a year ago and have waited until now to write this review for one reason, to show the reliability of these pumps. This pump has been running my system nonstop for nearly a year and the performance is the same as has been from the moment that I turned it on the first time. You will not find a better pump for the price

Comments: Purchased 2 and setup 90 gal reef feb/07. Use two for return from AGA sump. Their quiet and move sufficient water as expected. Not much heat transfer if any. I would recommendthis to a friend. Use two so maintenance/repair and still have one to run tank.

Comments: plenty of power to drive my 4 eductors from 50 ft away in another room, and even have it turned back a bit with a ball valve on the outflow, it has a little hum but rather quiet, can't comment on longevity since I just received it but so far I really like it, nice pump

"Great pump"
- Product Review by Justin Frese

Comments: Very pleased with the Pan World 150PS pump. It is reasonably quiet, and realy seems to move a lot of water. I have this pump sucking water out of a 30 gallon sump, pushing through (2) Pentair Aquatics "Double" inline filters, and a bit is split off into a fludized bed filter before returning to a 90 Gallon tank with about 6 foot high waterline. Even with a few unfortunate PVC elbows, I have about 300gph of real world water flow. This pump replaced (2) Quiet One 4000 pumps, which could only push about 200gph thought the same setup. The pressure guage on the Pentair filter now reads a constant 10psi, whereas the (2) QuietOne 4000's only registered about 4psi. I'm glad I got this model. NOt too big, but definately not too small.
