PE Mysis can be fed to fish in frozen chunks or poured into your aquarium after thawing. Only feed as much shrimp as your fish will eat in 2 or 3 minutes. Remove any uneaten food.

What is Mysis relicta?
Mysis are not a true shrimp though they do closely resemble and are, in fact a primitive relative of the shrimp found in the oceans. There are 58 genuses of mysis which make up the Mysidae family. PE MYSIS is 100% Mysis relicta which is one of the two types of freshwater Mysidae. All other species of Mysis are either saltwater or estuarine species. PE MYSIS are part of the zooplankton, the small invertebrate animals found in lakes that feed on microscopic algae (phytoplankton) as well as other zooplankton. In turn these organisms form the basis of the food supply for many fish.

"Great Value" - Product Review by Todd Woods (Posted on 1/9/11)

Excellent!

Comments: The shrimp are frozen in a very compact manner--not just frozen in a lot of water, so a chunk the size of a cube in other products is a lot more actual food. I've had trouble getting the shrimp here still frozen both times I've ordered it but the service rep made it right both times.

"A little more shrimp please" - Product Review by Charles Goodman (Posted on 12/8/10)

Comments: This is an excellent product which the fish and some coral love. However, the cubes need a little more shrimp and a little less water. The packs seem to have more shrimp.
I would suggest the packs and you can make your own cubes.

"THE BEST!" - Product Review by Dan Roos (Posted on 8/13/10)

Excellent!

Comments: I just recently came across this package at my LFS and decided to give it a shot. This is much better than the individual frozen cube packages that you see around. These shrimp are a bigger and 1 package goes a lot further than the cube packackages. just a little bit is equal to several small cubes making it the ideal choice for saving money. as a suggestion i recommend either microwaving for 5-10 seconds or using hot water to defrost the shrimp then rinsing them in ro/di water. doing this ensures no parasites will be added from the food and into your tank. Rinsing with clean water also removes any possible nitrates that may be with the food. I like to soak them in kent garlic to add some enrichments that may have been removed while cleaning them. garlic is a huge benefit for boosting fish health, while reducing a chance of ich attacks

"PEMysis" - Product Review by Erin Poe (Posted on 4/28/10)

Excellent!

Comments: PEMysis is a first rate product! One, because it is 65 percent protein compard to 5-6 percent proteins in other foods I have used. This means I only have to use a fraction of an amount I would normally used. Secondly, PEMysis does not contain hardly any water weightcompared to 40-50% in other frozen fish foods I have used. Lastly, not only has the health of my fish improved 10 fold, the color has as well. Even though the price on PEMysis seems high at first the benefits and amounts actually used easily make up for the cost.

"voracious food" - Product Review by Edna De Castro (Posted on 1/31/10)

Excellent!

Comments: This is 60% concentrated mysis shrimp so it's mostly protein and no filler water that can cloud your water.
I like the smaller sized packages to avoid "long term
freezer burn'.

"My seahorses are nice and fat" - Product Review by Phoebe Reeves (Posted on 1/27/10)
Rating
Excellent!

Comments: I have been raising seahorses for the last seven years and this food was recommended to me by the seahorse experts Dan and Abbie Underwood of Seahorse Source--nothing I have ever fed the horses has been as nutrient packed and good for them as this food--they get fat and colorful on it in a week and don't need to eat as much to get the maximum benefit--which is particularly good for me as I can't get live food for them where I live. I had been a Hikari fan but it is a poor second
