Polly`s Feather Weight Perch for Small Birds (Assorted, Baby Medium, 1/2 Inch Diameter x 3 Inch L) These perches are now made with 1/3 less weight. Polly's Pastels perches are a therapeutic and Veterinarian designed variable size perch which will trim your bird's nails and beak naturally while promoting healthier feet and leg muscles. Problems can develop if they're confined to perches of a single thickness and shape. The Polly's Pastels parrot perches are variable size, thickness and shape for the most comfortable fit. These parrot perches can easily be added to any cage or aviary. All the parrot perches come with a very simple wingnut which is very easy to use. You simply undo the nut and take off the large metal washer and then place the perch inside the cage, then from the outside the cage pushback on the metal washer and screw on the metal wingnut. You can add several parrot perches to any cage and most parrots will enjoy using them. When you first add the parrot perched on the cage your parrot may wonder what on earth it is and this is the same when you add any parrot toy to a cage. After a few days they will get used to the perch and then you should not have any more problems with parrot nails growing too long. If you have a parrot which is very nervous then place the parrot perch outside the cage for a few days before you add it inside the cage, this way the perch will not seem strange when added to the cage.

    Comments: I have an African Grey who is VERY picky about what goes into his cage. I tried a few other cement perches to replace his old Polly Pastels perch, but he would have nothing to do with them. I found this site and looked around and came across these. My bird is very picky of colors as well which is why I was hesitant at first. But I decided to give it a go and I got the exact same color that his old perch was!(tan/off white) I was thrilled. This product is great and I will continue to use it for as long as they making it ^-^

    Comments: In just afew days the sharp tips of her nails are not as sharp. Tori's nails are too long. I'm not good at triming anymore, from all indications this perch is just what I was looking for. It might be good to have 2 or 3 sizes, but I highly recommend this perch!
