Pretty Bird Hand Rearing Baby Bird Food Formula Information

Hand-fed baby birds and hand fed birds in general are quite a sight to behold. Who would not be charmed by birds that flock to you when you put out your finger, or perch on your shoulder when you enter the door? It is like the avian version of a pet dog coming up to you and jumping on your lap. There is a higher level of intimacy and friendship between hand-fed bird and its owner. Non-handfed birds are great to behold and some can be trained, most of the time it is mostly a spectator kind of thing where you could just behold your birds while they eat their feed and just enjoy themselves with their toys.

For that extra step of intimacy and friendship between a person and a pet bird, hand-fed birds are the way to go. The first step in having a hand-fed bird is to buy a baby bird at the right age. This is not an exact science, but it is more of an art. If you buy a baby bird that is too young, it might not make it to adulthood because it got separated from its mother too early and it is too early to hand feed. If you get it too late, it might retain the "wild characteristics" of a cage-raised bird and might behave no different than other cage-raised birds.

You have to find the right age for your baby bird. After finding the bird at the right time, make certain that you invest in a baby bird food formula that is specifically designed for hand feeding. Unlike human baby formula that is administered via syringes, the specifically formulated baby bird food really matches all the nutritional requirements that a growing baby bird would need. One good candidate for this type of food formula is the Pretty Bird Hand Rearing Baby Bird Food 19/8 Formula from Pet Store. This formula is specifically designed for hand-fed birds. It could be used for lorries, amazons and most types of cockatoos. It has the most favorable protein content and fat content of a fast growing bird.

It is formulated in such a way that it maximizes your bird's growth so it can wean sooner. This feed should be stored in a dry location or refrigerated or even put in the freezer. Take good care of this feed because you need to reconstitute it and then feed it via syringe to your pet. For proper hand rearing and hand feeding of baby birds, try the Pretty Bird Hand Rearing Baby Bird Food 19/8 Formula.

Pretty Bird Hand Rearing Baby Product Review by DIANE BARRETT (Posted on 2/26/14)

Excellent!

Comments: I have been breeding birds for over 10 years and have used other types of hand rearing formulas and I always go back to Pretty Bird because I like the results I get. Pretty Bird formula always stays the same in texture without getting hard in the crop. With other formulas I have experienced 'slow crop' but not with Pretty Bird. It has a pleasent smell and mixes easily.

Comments: I don't know how my baby Parakeets could stand the taste of this stuff, but just the smell of it would make me gag! I also had some problems in mixing it up for them. Either it would be too watery or way too lumpy. It would take me at least 10 minutes to get ALL the lumps out, so it could be sucked up into the syringe to feed the babies. Now, don't get me wrong, the product is good in the way that these babies ate it and always wanted more, but geesh, it literally made me sick to my stomach while mixing it up.

Love this formula! Product Review by MARY (Posted on 4/8/14)

Excellent!

Comments: I have been using this for over 3 years with great results. My babies love it as much as I do. After reading one review that said it didn't mix well and smells bad, I have to disagree. I find it mixes smooth and the smell is not bad at all, has a sweet grain smell to me. I have tried other formulas at a much higher price and have not been happy with them. I have been breeding birds for a while now and have never lost a baby due to their crop hardening with this formula. I have recommended it to other breeders.
