The Dart™ is the quietest pump on the market. Ideal applications for this unit are aquariums 100- 200 gallons. The Dart™ is great for close loop reef systems requiring high turnover. This unit is rated for moderately low head pressure and a maximum flow rate of 3600gph, shut off head of 12 feet and a maximum wattage of 160W/1.4 amps. Our low speed, 1/8 HP A.O. Smith® motors have extremely low heat transfers.

Comments: After breaking-in for a couple of days it quiets down to a low hum. (overflow water is usually louder than the pump) Power and adjustability. (via ball valve) Glad I went with this one.

Comments: I purchased this pump to be the primary pump for my 240g reef tank. This pump is not only very powerful, but very, very quiet. In fact, it is amazingly quiet. For a pump this powerful you would expect the sound of a diesel engine, but not so.
Beyond just being powerful and quiet, this unit is also very reliable. I have not had one ounce of trouble with this system. From my point of view, this is one of the best pumps on the market. If you need a pump that puts out a tremendous amount of water, and does so quietly, this is your pump. You will NOT be dissapointed.
