Thought I might try saving some dollars by purchasing this washable filter; however, it does not trap debris and contributed to my tank becoming extremely cloudy after a few of months. When I changed the filter media, I found that the coarse washable filter had not trapped any debris while the fine white filter had become gray, overly saturated with debris the likes of which I've never seen before; poor fine filter was doing all the work while the coarse did none. Stay away.
I would not recommend this product to my friends.
