Comments: The fluval canister is made of a rubber substance. If you are using this in a saltwater tank and also using a protein skimmer, the oils from the rubber may interfere with the protein skimmer's foam production. Despite running the canister under hot water for 15 minutes and wiping repeatedly with a sponge, foam is still impacted. Additional item; the silver tab on the aquastop can easily break (mine arrived broken). I am replacing with a german brand filter and gave the fluval 305 away on craigslist. I would not recommend this product to my friends.

Comments: I have had a few canister filters over a period of six years...... This brand was my first and will be my only product in the fucture. The size of the cansiter filter is the 305, my tank is only 55 gallons, but the current generated is great. Only one thing i would like to see with this model is an extra basket for other media. In my experience, being creative with media helps. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends.
