Comments: The PURA Filtration pad is an amazing little filter. It's all in one so you don't have to worry about stacking up layer after layer of filtration like with other pads. Just cut to size, rinse, and place. Very Easy to use. Cleaning it is a breeze too. I'm sure it would last longer, but I end up changing it out every 3 months or so. In between I rinse it out about every 2 weeks or so and the whole time it does a great job. I have this filter in use on my 34-Gallon Solana and it not only keeps my water crystal clear, but also keeps my Nitrate levels really low. On my 210 with a refugium and bio-pellets my Nitrates hover at around 10ppm, on my Solana however, they are right at 0ppm, with no bio-pellets or anything. It is all thanks to this little filter!

Comments: I have used this in clients aquariums (planted tanks mostly) do to the heavy handed feeding habits of some people. I've cut it to fit various canister filters and found it to work great when it comes to reducing the phosphate & organic levels which helps cut down on the algae build up in the aquariums. I have recently used it in my own SPS nano tank to reduce the silicate and phosphate levels prior to me getting an RO/DI system. It has worked like a charm. Levels are minimal. My corals are happy therefore I am happy! Highly recommended for both fresh water and marine systems!

Comments: I like the fact it can be cut. Takes a bit of muscle, but being able to shape the product is a plus. Noticed a slight decrease in my algae problems but cant be certain if this is the solution. Wish it had more GFO granules inside as its my phosphates I have concern over.

Comments: I have been using this product for several years and it has worked very well in removing all contaminating chemicals. I have a Nano Cube and it works well in the small spaces between the settler and the return. I had some trouble finding the product recently, I am glad to be able to find it again.

Comments: I started using this in my 60 gallon reef tank, and within a day could notice a total difference. I went from cleaning the glass once if not twice a day, to once every three days!!! Brought phosphates down overnight, and makes water extremely clear. Will not stop using this pad.

Comments: This pad goes in my wet/dry trickle filter and is cleaned once per week and replaced once per month. The cool thing about this pad is that it reduces phosphate levels.

Comments: This filtration pad makes a huge difference in keeping my 36g reef aquarium free of organics and phosphates. I've never had any algae overgrowth before, but ran my canister filter without it for awhile as an experiment, and wound up with a small bubble and hair algae bloom. After adding the filtration pad back, both kinds of algae started dying back right away. I know for sure this makes a huge difference and it's now a permanent part of my maintenance. Cutting it to size is easy. I just cut the smaller pad into quarters, and one piece is enough to layer in my canister filter, replacing it each time I clean it out.

Comments: Great Product, so far so good way cheaper than Poly and so far just as effective. I have a big bio-load but massive filtration, and bio-filtration. 0 levels with everything and hopefully will stay that way.

Comments: These pads work great. Within a few hours the water is much clearer. I always use these PADS. They pick up so much stuff from the aquarium.. They work great in my 135 gallon tank. I change them once a month.
<br />Yes, they are a little messy to cut to right size for your filter layout, but, hey, buy a sharp pair of scissors and the mess is minimal. The PADS are worth it!

<br />a) first of all, the "messiness" in cutting this dry product "to size" roughly equates to the hand swiping necessarily involved when "sweeping off" (by hand) the kitchen table that we all do (hopefully) after we've eaten a sub-sandwich, of which the bread was slightly dry and left a lot of crumbs.

<br />b) secondly, the ability to custom-cut the material to fit an aquarists very specific needs (due to so many variables) HIGHLY outways paying a super-premium price for a product that only fits his or her specific application/hardware.

<br />This product rocks. I had to move from CA to TX. I brought all of my most precious corals with me and set up a 24g Nano cube as a "survival" tank until I could adequately accommodate them.

<br />After an unexpected year in Iraq, I was just glad that my corals were still alive.

<br />Got everything on course, with the proper water-flow, lighting and a chiller for consistent temps, yet things were not great.

<br />The only reason that I am posting this is because I was scouring the internet to find the cheapest price for this product and saw those complaints of other reviewers that I think to be paltry compared to the benefits.

<br />For what is worth, this is the first review of any product that I have ever made on a commercial site (although I have spoke my opinion hundreds of times on reef keeping forums such as Reef Central and Nano-reef.
<br />However, I do plan on doing the same here for the JBJ Mini Chiller and the 24g Nano HQI Retrofit Hood, which have proven to be outstanding products so far.

Comments: Currently use this under my filter floss, which somewhat impedes flow, but not to bad. Seems to be doing its job as parms are good and water is clear (also use Chemipure Elite & Purigen). Not to easy to cut and a messy when doing so as the granules will fall out-just cut it over a sink and rinse.

Comments: I tried these after reading the reviews. I have one freshwater and one saltwater tank. Both had a film on top of the water. Even though I am running an Aqua C Remora Pro w/ Mag 3 pump on my 58 gallon saltwater, there was still an oily sheen to the surface. After putting the PURA pad in both aquariums in the same maintenance session, within a couple of hours (that was how long I waited to look) I was thoroughly impressed that the film was GONE on both tanks. I had previously been using Poly Filter or ChemiPure for chemical filtration, but the PURA does everything they do and MORE. EXCELLENT PRODUCT, GREAT PRICE.

Comments: I HAVE USED THE PURA PADS IN MY POND FILTER AS WELL AS REEF SUMP AND THE EFFECT IS STRIKING AND READILY NOTICEABLE WITHING HOURS. THE WATER SEEMS TO SPARKLE.

Comments: Seems to work well. I bought it to lower the phosphate level in my aquarium. I cut the sheet to fit under my overflow drain in my sump. Phosphate levels have dropped and my water is crystal clear.

Comments: I purchased this product for use in my protein skimmer overflow. This filter is actually too thick for use in this way. Within 4-5 days it was no longer passing water through the filter and the overflow was clogging. I would not recommend this product for this use.

Comments: This pad is easily cut to size and works great in my wet/dry. You can see the difference over poly pads overnight. Highly recommended.

Comments: These pads are just right for my wet dry. Once I got the phosphate level down using Pura granuals, these pads keep me and my friends at 0.0. I change one every month and I'm perfect.

Comments: I have a 24 gallon AquaPod. I didn't even use the blue sponges in the back, I just replaced them with this PURA pad. It seems like this stuff has got everything in it to keep the fish and corals happy. I don't even have a protein skimmer on the tank and the water is really clear. Well, for a while the tank was really dirty, but I realized that the water was bypassing the PURA pad and the fish got sick. After the pad was fixed, then everything went back to normal and my clown looks very happy.

Comments: I was using the poly pads. But Pura beats Poly hands down. Water is sharper and better smelling overall. The pads, while messy to cut to size, are easily handled and inserted into my filter casing. Highly recommended for all.
