Comments: I installed this at the same time I changed my filters. The whole process took less than 30 mins.
<br />The instructions are not real clear but once you get the system in front of you it begins to make sense. My system did not have the restricter insert that the instructions outline. Instead, mine has a actual device that was between the RO output and the drain line that was threaded on both ends. To install, I cut the blue tube on the flush device in the center and inserted the restrictor between the ends of the blue tube. Pay attention to the flow direction and use Teflon tape on all the fittings. As I replaced the filters at the same time I needed to run water to clean/condition the filters. So I flushed the RO membrane at the same time. I did see an increase in the flow rate from my system, not sure if it was a result of the new filters or the flushing of the membrane or maybe both. I think it is well worth the money.

Comments: A correction: the valve is OPEN for flushing, CLOSED for normal operation. Since the restrictor has to go in the blue bypass tube (there's no room for it in the valve assembly) the valve has to be closed to direct the water through the restrictor. The whole thing is working properly if the flow out the waste water line is much greater while flushing. Be sure to read all the reviews since the supplied instructions may be confusing.

Comments: Great product for a great price, had it set up in under 2 minutes. Instructions are a bit confusing but basically its like this:
<br />1-attach the drain line out of the membrane housin to one side of valve
<br />2-attach drain line that willconnect to the sink drain pipe to the other side of the valve
<br />3-attach your systems flow restrictor into the blue U line thata comes with the valve kit. be sure to pay attention to the flow arrow on your flow restictor

Comments: Back flushing the RO system is supposed to lift some of the sediments off the RO memberance and flush them out. It is supposed to elongate the useful life of the memeberance and is a recommended practice by many books and literature independent of the filter manufacturer's advertisements. You will need to remove the flow restrictor from the output of the RO unit, place it inside the flush kit assembly hose, and attach the kit to your output of the RO system. It has a valve that is open for normal operation. You will close the valve for around 30 seconds for back flushing. Water flow rate out of the outflow hose will significantly increase during that period. Then open the valve again and continue with normal operation. Simple to use and it pays for itself in no time.

Comments: Good product, pretty much as pictured. The instructions can be a little confusing since it shows a flow restrictor and you might assume it is part of the flush kit but they actually want you to remove the one in the RO kits waste line itself and put into the tube indicated.

Comments: This particular item is great, monitors when you need to change the filters and adds extra life to your ro membrane by expressing solids out of it without having to remove it and clean it. Installation took literally minutes.
