"So, So"
- Product Review by Elvin Ibarra
(Posted on 12/1/10)

Comments: I like that it provides phosphate levels between 0 and 0.25 mg/L unlike API test kits that give you 0, 0.25 and higher. The color chart is a bit difficult to read due to the light shades of blue. I prefer a liquid form of reagents, but this one has one powder form. Kind of a downside to the kit.

"Simple Test"
- Product Review by Joseph Nichols

Comments: This test is simple to use...very clear directions. Also a low range test, however the scale is hard to read. If you have glasses, wear them, because you"ll need them to distinguish between the very similar shades of blue....one thing for sure though, you can definitely tell if your phosphates are TOO high.

I would recommend this for the hobbyist that needs a general idea of phosphates...if you need very clear accurate results, don't buy this test.

"Get a Hanna Phos Meter"
- Product Review by Keith Brewer

Comments: I works well if you dont have any algea or cyno. it will read undetectable when you obviously have a phosphate issue. Spend the extra cash and get a Hanna Phosphate Checker.

"Great test kit"
- Product Review by Charles Stewart
(Posted on 12/16/09)

Comments: Some have suggested that phosphate test kits are difficult to use, but if this one is representative, I don't see the difficulty. Drip in some drops; stick in the reagent; swirl. Read the color. Pretty simple. My only complaint is that it would be great if the instructions could be summarized on the back of the color comparison card --- all you need is a crib sheet after you've done the test once or twice. I also didn't compare the results with other test kits, so I can't remark on how well it performs where it counts --- but the results seemed to match what I was observing in the tank.

"does not live up to the name"
- Product Review by Eric Vernon
(Posted on 10/26/08)

Comments: i got this because of the quality of there other test kits. So far it seems they did not do so well on this one. i had an algae problem and tried to find the root of it. Salifert reads 0 phosphates in tank and RO water, then i bought a hanna meter and tank = .05ppm and RO water = .03ppm. if you can read phosphate level with kit then your phosphates are super high!!!

"Great"
- Product Review by Drew Creel

Comments: Pretty simple test, easy to use, very clear instructions. Its a little difficult to distinguish between some of the colors on the scale (goes from clear = 0 to light blue = 3 with a very subtle gradient inbetween), but it was pretty obvious that I had unacceptable levels of phosphate in my water so the test did its job!
