Comments: buffer works excellent, for a 30 gallon water change i combine 3 tsp r/o right, 3 tsp neutral regulator, and then 3 tsp discus buffer about 1/2 hour apart. 1 tsp discus essential (kent) for a PH of 6.7 that my discus love and PH stays the same until next water change.

Comments: Discus Buffer works EXACTLY as advertised; you won't find a more effective mechanism to adjust and buffer a stable pH.

<br />Both Discus Buffer and Neutral Regulator, designed by Seachem to work together, use PHOSPHATE-based buffers. In an unplanted freshwater aquarim, phosphates do not pose any issues. In a planted tank, however, high phosphate levels lead to undesirable algae blooms.

<br />If you have a planted aquarium, use Acid Buffer and Alkaline Buffer rather than Discus Buffer and Neutral Regulator.

Comments: I have used this product for a year now, 2008. I use it in conjuction with SeaChem's Neutral Regulator for a 20Gal freshwater tank. The pH of my tap water is up there at 7.4 and I like to keep the tank's pH at 6.8. I achieve this by mixing 1 tsp of the Regulator with 3 tsp's of the Discus Buffer. The pH holds at 6.8 for a two-week duration (14 days).

Comments: I purchased 2 bottles due to the fact it is hard to find at the lfs I looked at and was unsure of how fast I was going to go through it with the size of my tank(175 gallons w/ 50% changes every 5-7 days).I was pretty impressed that it dropped my ph from 7.3 to 6.4 with a little more than the recommended beginning dosage.I just might have enough to last awhile.Only gave it 4 stars because I've used it a short time and I'm not sure how long it will last the water changes.
