When it comes to
aquarium plants, not every substrate or gravel material will work. You need specially selected materials so that your plants are rooting, nutritional and stability requirements are met. The difference in these kinds of materials is in the surface quality. They do not all have the same shape. They do not all have the same base material and they do not all compact the same way. If you are looking for specially selected planting material for your aquarium plants, try the Seachem Flourite Dark from
Pet Store. This specially selected gravel is really optimized for planted aquarium plants.
It works with any aquarium environment and you do not need to mix it with gravel modifiers. Also it is best to just use this as your aquarium gravel. There is no need to mix it with other types of gravel. However, if you would like to mix it with other gravel, you still can. The Seachem Flourite Dark does not have chemical coating and does not alter the pH level of your water. Although it is dark, it has been prewashed to remove any residual dust. However, if you still want to wash it, you can. For effective gravel solution for your planted aquarium plant life, try the Seachem Flourite Dark.
Flourite Dark™ is a specially fracted, stable porous clay gravel for the natural planted aquarium. Its appearance is best suited to planted aquaria, but may be used in any aquarium environment. Flourite Dark™ is most effective when used alone as an integral substrate bed, but it may be mixed with other gravels. Gravel modifiers such as laterite are not necessary. Flourite Dark™ is not chemically coated or treated and will not alter the pH of the water.
Although pre-washed, it may be rinsed before use to remove residual dust. Dust can also be minimized by filling aquarium slowly and dispersing water so that the Flourite Dark™ bed is not disturbed. Slight initial cloudiness is normal and will clear rapidly (2–12 hours). To shorten the cloudiness period use Clarity™ in conjuction with mechanical filtration (such as filter floss).
