Seachem Laboratories Laboratories Reef Buffer - 250 Grams Information

Product Manuals & Documentation

Seachem Reef Buffer ™ is intended primarily for use in a reef system where the maintenance of a pH of 8.3 is often difficult. When used as directed Reef Buffer™ will raise the pH of your reef system to 8.3 without fear of accidentally overshooting the pH to a dangerous level. Reef Buffer™ will also raise carbonate alkalinity. Reef Buffer™ is a blended product and is not just sodium carbonate. Reef Builder™ should be used to raise alkalinity when pH is not a problem. Use Seachem`s MultiTest: Marine pH & Alkalinity™ to check pH and total alkalinity. 250 g treats 8,000 L (2,000 gallons).

Comments: I've been using this product for a few months to elevate pH in a 175 gallon custom aquarium. I chose this product due to issues with low pH and this product's description indicated it would be a good choice. I've found that it maintains the pH without elevating the alkalinity too much. I dispense during the night with a doser. Unlike Seachem Marine Buffer, it can raise the pH higher than 8.3 if too much is added at once.

Comments: Love this stuff..I have been using for over 2 yrs. If you have a marine tank,, you need this. It is hard to keep ph up after you've had a tank running for a couple of years,(especially when you start to slack on your water changes) I mix a batch up in between water changes. I Would be lost without it. Other products I've tried always raise the carbonate hardness too high.

Comments: This is a great product. I was having a problem with calcium precipitation using some of the other products, but no longer. Also because you only use one teaspoon per 40 gallons it goes a long way.

Comments: I was having issues with low pH levels in my reef tank. I started dosing Seachem's Reef Buffer along with kalkwasser and the combination has helped with my pH issues.

Comments: This is a great product. I have a 65 gal reef tank, with 800 gal an hour pump and chiller. I have problems with the ph dropping. This holds it at 8.2 to 8.4 at all times.
<br />I add it to my auto fill.

Comments: Product does exactly as described better than any other I have used. This product is 1000 times better than the previous Instant Ocean Buffer I used to use. I use several Seachem products and not one of them has let me down!

Comments: This a great product. Have used it for years! Just have to remember if your new to Salt water tank keeping and have a new set up it can take months for your tank cycle and stabilize. This buffer really helps, but need to keep close eye on dKH level as well as pH.
